Buckle up (heh) because spring 2024’s hottest bag trends are in—and they’re sooooo pretty. And cool!
Candy colors are having a moment and so are big-ass buckles, but my absolute favorite thing about this season’s must-have purses is their size. That’s right—finally the It bags are substantial enough to carry your whole life.
The shopper silhouette—otherwise known as a fashion shopping bag (two smaller handles and a rectangular shape)—is definitely on its way to many an arm crook. And our other large friend, the hobo bag, an unstructured, semi-slouchy design, will be vying for your attention as well. I’m truly obsessed with the gold one we featured below, in case you wanna race me for it.
The other trend I’m coveting is the chunky woven bag. The shiny slate one pictured below takes your traditional beach bag and cranks the volume up to 11.

Big Ol’ Buckles
If you’ve seen the shoe part of this trend package, then you know that heavy metal—the bigger the better—is a key influence across a couple of accessory categories. Bags are no different. I’m loving this one with three buckles, because more is more, friends! And there are a ton of cute buckle-forward styles at a variety of price points already on the market, so feel free to snag the best one for you. Don’t mind if I do!

The Slouchier the Better
Hobo bags, which are typically unstructured with relatively long shoulder straps, are ready for their close-up. This gold big boy is true perfection. I think it could carry my laptop, the next three books on my TBR list, some snacks, maybe even a small dog! Aka what I wish all my bags could handle.

The truth is I had to actively suppress the urge not to show you this trend because I want to keep that chunky woven silver magic above all to myself. Lucky for you, I’ve chosen to be professional today, so back to the bag: Aren’t you obsessed with its subtle shine, effortless throw-me-on vibes, and pillowlike plushness? I’ve always had a soft spot for a fashion bag that masquerades as a shopping bag, so I’m extra happy the silhouette is grabbing some spotlight this season. These totes are usually a bit more on the casual side, can fit a laptop or an iPad, and are pretty perfect for everyday errands or work. If lugging stuff around isn’t your thing, you can always opt for a mini version, btw.

Pastels, I’ve missed you. After the never-ending gray winter doldrums, there’s something downright euphoric about all the baby pinks, blues, and greens spotted in this season’s accessories. It really brings to mind the age-old question: Why wear neutral colors when you literally don’t have to? Any of the styles below would look *so* good with an ice cream cone, just sayin’.
