It’s the first Monday in May, which means the Met Gala is officially here. For the uninitiated, this is fashion’s BIGGEST night of the year—like if the hype around New Year’s Eve, Halloween, and the Super Bowl were all squeezed into one event—where celebs and their stylists all flock to NYC to show off their best outfits and interpretations of the theme (this year it’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which celebrates Black dandyism). And while I love admiring all the clothing and seeing what A-listers end up wearing on the stairs, what I really care about are the glam moments.
