The Wuthering Heights press tour has been filled with long, tousled hair for the film’s star, Margot Robbie. Soft waves, adorned braids, and extra-long lengths were the cornerstone of Margot’s looks for the last few months of premieres and events. But as a final goodbye to Cathy, Margot Robbie has traded in her long locks for a blunt bob. Welcome to the bob club, Margot!
Seated front row at Chanel’s Fall/Winter show with the likes of Jennie, Olivia Dean, and Lily-Rose Depp (it girl convention, tbh), Margot went the casual route for an occasion that was anything but. In casual jeans and a tank (with a Chanel bag on her shoulder, of course), Margot debuted a just-above-the-shoulder cut—a huge hair transformation from what we’ve been seeing from her the last few months. Complete with wispy short bangs and a brushed-over side-part, this take on a French bob makes complete sense for a Paris Fashion Week look.
In fact, Margot’s bob might even be considered a “lob,” or long bob for the uninitiated, since it hits just above her shoulder. If the idea of a chin-length cut feels a bit too ambitious, consider a lob like Margot’s. It doesn’t feel so intense, leaves a bit of length to play with (i.e. you can pull it back into a ponytail or low bun), and grows out seamlessly as it touches your shoulder.
Margot isn’t the first to get a bob this spring. Olandria Carthen, Penélope Cruz, Madelyn Cline, and Hailey Bieber have all generously cropped their lengths in favor of the “it” haircut. Bangs, too, are set to be one of the biggest spring hair trends. Margot’s frame her face for an ultra-flattering style that complements her fine hair.
