MAC Is Finally at Sephora—Shop Our Beauty Editor’s Favorite Lipsticks, Foundation, and More

In high school, I had to travel an hour away from my small town to try MAC Cosmetics for the first time (then, I was buying Tinted Lip Conditioner—RIP—and Mineralize Skin Finish). But the teens of today are lucky: MAC is officially in Sephora.
This has been a long-time coming for MAC lovers. Sephora is the mecca of all things beauty, specifically artistry-focused makeup (Makeup By Mario, Patrick Ta, and M.ph Beauty, for example). Being able to shop the brand’s legendary lipsticks, lip liners, and foundation feels like a next step for the brand that has a superfan like me elated. I’ve been wearing and loving MAC for more than half my life at this point—now, it’s officially way easier to stock up on my faves (and the go-tos of MAC ambassadors Chappell Roan, Gabbriette, and Quen Blackwell). I have at least two of these in my bag at all times and am fully convinced it’s the best lip liner ever made. It’s creamy enough to glide in with full pigment but not so much so that it bleeds or smears. “Greige” is my perfect cool-toned contour lip liner (and a favorite of it-girl Gabbriette), but I also swear by “Cool Spice” for neutral looks. “Chestnut” is a go-to deep brown for many celebs, including JT, and “Whirl” is Alex Consani’s fave.
MAC knows lipstick. Very well. This silky matte formula was upgraded a few years ago and is my go-to (and that of many celebrity makeup artists too). It’s smooth and long-wearing and fully opaque, but it doesn’t dry out my lips at all. I’ve been wearing “Velvet Teddy” since college, and it’s a fantastic warm-toned nude for me. (if you’re feeling nostalgic for Tumblr times, Kylie Jenner used to wear this shade before she launched her own brand.) But “Ruby Woo” is the most iconic red lipstick shade of all time—the whole Cosmo team agrees.
Exclusive and brand new for the Sephora launch, these liquid creams are meant to be used all over your face. They make a great eyeshadow, especially as a base all over your lid, but you could also sculpt your cheekbones with it or dab on your cheeks as blush. They dry down quickly and set to a matte finish, meaning they stick around all day too. And they’re available in all of our favorite MAC shades, like “Stone” and “Velvet Teddy” if you wanna go monochromatic.
I’m all in on the matte foundation revival, and this full-coverage powder was the catalyst. It blurs every pore on my face, all the while feeling light as air, like I don’t even have anything on. Often, I’ll just dab some concealer under my eyes and on any zits, then smooth on a layer of this with a dense brush. My face looks genuinely flawless in a matter of a few minutes.
Before there were a zillion setting sprays on the market, there was MAC Fix+. Artists mostly used it as a mixing medium for powders or to refresh a clients face. But it’s still one of the best hydrating setting sprays around. When my skin looks cakey or dry, I just spritz this on, and it immediately revives my makeup.
You know when you try to layer a second coat on your mascara for extra volume or length, and it just all clumps together? This won’t do that. In fact, it looks better as you layer it on. And you can seriously pack this on for a mega lash look without any falsies.
The newest complexion hero from MAC, Studio Fix Fluid went through a full rebrand this fall from the O.G. formula I used to use in high school. Now, it’s a soft-matte finish with a medium coverage that conceals redness and acne without feeling heavy.
