When an email hit my inbox about CoverGirl's New Wrap Tubing Mascara, claiming that the formula is capable of lasting up to 30 hours—through workouts, heat, and whatever else the day throws at you—I was skeptical, to put it lightly. Drugstore mascaras have come a long way, but surviving maximum sweatiness for hours and hours felt a liiiittle too ambitious. Still, team Cosmo did what we do best, and we tested it to see if it actually delivers.
And we didn’t just wear the brand’s first tubing mascara to the office to see how it held up throughout our commutes and a typical work day. We coated it on before three very sweaty workouts in the name of beauty journalism. Keep reading for our full review of the CoverGirl Wrap Tubing Mascara.

A beauty sin in my book is wearing makeup during a workout class (not trying to induce any more acne over here), but I was willing to make an exception for the sake of testing this mascara. I went to a 60-minute CorePower Yoga class—which, if you’re unfamiliar, takes place in a 96-degree room—so you can imagine the level of sweat that occurs.
After a few swipes, the formula elongated my lashes immensely. I was impressed, but the real test was the workout. Sweat was dripping from my brows into my eyes, I was dabbing my face with a towel, and I was positive I’d be leaving class with raccoon eyes. To my surprise, the only remnants were a few tiny dots of flaking that you wouldn’t notice unless you were actively looking for them.
I was genuinely blown away that after 60 minutes in a sauna-like workout, my lashes looked just as long and full as when I started. I also wore it on a Friday night out, and it didn’t budge or flake at all. And when I took my time combing through my lashes for an extra minute or so, the length and separation were incredible. I will say, it made my lashes so long that my hair was getting caught in them while I was styling it (a good problem to have), so make sure mascara is your final step after you’re fully done with makeup and hair.
While I loved the way the formula made my lashes look, I do wish the brown shade leaned more true brown; it’s very dark and pretty much looks black. Otherwise, no notes. If I had to wear mascara during a workout, it would be this one. I’ve had many others flake without 96 degrees of heat.

I'm really picky about makeup, so there are a lot of categories that I usually just won't test to avoid disappointment. Tubing mascara is one of those categories. I generally find it harder to remove, and it always flakes. But I've been in love with nearly every CoverGirl mascara since I first started wearing makeup, so I broke my rules.
My lashes are naturally very fine and straight, but they're actually kinda long (especially when I've got mascara on). With a lash curler and this new mascara, I genuinely look like I have lash extensions on, but because I use the brown shade, it's still subtle.
I've been loving the formula for every day, but was excited to see how the claims around it being sweat-proof would fare. I swiped the formula on my lashes ahead of a Rumble class—the combo of cardio boxing and weightlifting will make me sweat quite a bit, resulting in makeup that's down my face by the time I head out the door. But I was so shocked, somehow my lashes looked even better afterward. They're still defined and long, but not clumped together at all. I had exactly one flake on my face, but after wiping it with a towel, that's totally to be expected. In all, I can see myself swapping to this mascara almost exclusively for any time I'll be sweating, whether that's in a workout class or just in hot weather.

I grew up obsessed with CoverGirl mascara (Lash Blast for life!!) but over the years, I drifted toward other brands. The minute I tried this new tubing formula, I was reminded why CoverGirl has always been a mascara favorite. The brush is perfection, applying pigment evenly and smoothly with zero clumps. Unlike many tubing mascaras that feel wet or sticky on the lashes, this one hits the sweet spot—just the right texture for easy coverage.
I was equally impressed by the staying power. I sweat profusely when I Peloton and am constantly wiping my face with a towel during my workout. This mascara didn't budge—nor did it irritate my sensitive eyes. My only gripe is that I wish it had more curling capabilities. My lashes are stick-straight, and this formula didn't give them much lift or curl, but it definitely defined and lengthened them.
Final thoughts:
The CoverGirl Wrap Tubing Mascara held up through normal office days to nights out without smudging. It kept our lashes long and defined during sweaty workouts with minimal flaking, which is a rarity that we don't take lightly, especially for $12. For the price, results, and staying power, this mascara has officially set a new drugstore standard.
