As beauty director of an international lifestyle magazine, I think most of my family imagines that my life in this creative/media world is somewhat a mirror image of Emily Cooper from Emily in Paris.
They picture me jetting around different European cities, meeting with clients for lunches and dinners, and then gossiping with my colleagues about what I've gotten up to. And actually now, as I type this, I realize there are minor similarities; however, I have to admit, I look a lot less chic doing any of it. In fact, my similarities with Emily herself begin and end with us both having a bob haircut. Which is why I can watch the show and get lost in its pure aspirational escapability.
Ever since the promo for season 5 came out this summer and we saw that she had cut herself a French bob (even though it coincides with her jaunt in Rome), we have been dying to see how she styles her hair through the season. Finally, the wait is over, and while we refuse to give any spoilers, we have rounded up the best bob hairstyles for inspiration for us all! Merci, Emily!
Emily in Paris bob styling ideas:
The flippy bob
So so adorable! We predicted the flippy bob would be back big time, so we love that Emily is co-signing.
Side-sweeping waves
A deep side part was a big look at the spring/summer 2026 shows, so it looks like Emily has been taking note here.
Razor-sharp blunt bob
This is Emily's go-to style, and we can see why. The bluntness of the style lends itself to Emily's finer strands and gives it thickness and movement.
Voluminous bob
I wonder how many cans of texture spray were used to style this look? We love this 80s look on Miss Cooper.
Low pony bob
The eternal worry before cutting a bob...will you be able to wear a ponytail? Well, here Em proves you absolutely can (very, very low) and look sleek doing so.
Flapper chic
Something about this look screams 1920s to me. I think it's the short-waved 'do with the little barrette. Bravo, Emily!
French bob
She might be in Rome, but Emily's bob, styled like thi,s screams Parisian. The French bob is typically chin length and super blunt, and often either styled super sleek, or like this with gentle, unfussy waves.
The pouf bob
Given that Emily is about 29/30 in this season of EIP, it's perfectly feasible that she watched The Hills as a kid, and so took inspo from style icon Lauren Conrad. Seems like she's harked back to the popular 2010 style with this look.
Half up, half down
Switching things up, this is such a great way to diversify your bob portfolio and so simple too. Bonus point for the nineties face-framing tendrils.
