While short hair is nothing new for Selena Gomez (she is the Queen of the a-line bob, after all), we've never seen her with a curly shag, complete with wispy fringe, no less. That is until today, where she hard-launched said new look in a jaw-dropping IG post... New szn, new hairstyle, as the old adage goes.
Over on Instagram, the actor-meets-singer-meets-beauty mogul (a woman of many talents) shared a selfie, which, in just nine hours, has racked up over 800,000 likes. Impressive, much?
In the picture, Sel debuted a brand new hairstyle, one that is defined by textured curls, a short collar-grazing length, and, what's more, a fringe! Enter: The bob x shag multihyphenate.
As the star so perfectly demonstrates, the shaggy bob is a hairstyle that combines the chic classic bob with the edginess of a shag, and often a fringe (think Stevie Nicks circa 1962) making for lots of rock n roll texture and volume. So, if you, too, want to join the shaggy bob brigade, shorter, choppier layers are where it's at.
That said, in the caption of her post, Selena unfortunately reveals that the haircut isn't here to stay; "I would, but Iâd regret it, then get it redone so I simply won't #bangs." To bang, or not to bang, that is the questionâand Sel chose not to... well, kinda.
Alas, whether she's wearing a fully installed wig or a clip-in fringe extension, there's no denying that Selena looks totally fire with a fringed shaggy bob. Flame emojis, only.
