Welcome to Cosmo HQ Review, the corner of the internet where our team of beauty-obsessed editors share their unfiltered, honest thoughts on the latest and greatest launches in skin, hair, makeup, and nails...just for you.
If you already know and love Versed for their clean and affordable skincare formulas or their internet-famous bubble headband (a must-have for any self-care session or GRWM video) then you're about to love this news. As of today, Versed has officially entered the world of makeup. Yup, the brand just dropped a 15-piece makeup collection (complete with tinted sunscreen, concealers, eyeshadows, cheek products, lip balms, and more) all for $20 or less on versedskincare.com and at Target.
Naturally, the Cosmo beauty team got exclusive early access to the collection and has been testing all the newness for weeks. And now? We're ready to share our thoughts. Keep scrolling for our honest reviews on Versed makeup, plus our editor's favorite products to try from the line.
Lauren Balsamo, beauty director
"I demand a lot of my face makeup. I want it to be lightweight and feel like a skin tint, have ample coverage that I can build (especially around my chin and jawline where my hormonal acne is flaring), have SPF protection, and not clog my pores. I rarely find anything that checks all these boxes, but Versed’s new Multi-Serum Skin Tint actually does. Three quick pumps even out my skin tone and camouflage my breakouts and dark
marks...all without feeling heavy or mask-like.
I’ve been using the skin tint over the Smooth Skin Face Primer (a step I reserve mostly for weddings) and the way it blurs my pores and smooths my skin texture is pretty amazing (primer is now something I’ll commit to daily!) And anything that the skin tint doesn’t cover up I can easily spot treat with the Serum Concealer. I love the oversized applicator and the ultra-thin consistency of the formula."
Jasmine Hyman, assistant shopping editor
"I am so obsessed with Versed's Lifting Mascara, it's legit the only one I've been wearing for the last month (which says a lot considering I get new mascaras to test every day). I got tons of compliments and questions on my lashes and I'd have to be that annoying beauty editor and say "ugh it hasn't launched yet." And it also comes in brown which I loooove.
And as a self-proclaimed blush connoisseur, I appreciated the Blush Stick for a one-and-done swipe over my cheeks. It has just the right amount of pigment and hydration that leave my skin with a natural and glowy finish.
Last but definitely not least, let me put you onto the Tinted Brow Gel. It keeps my brow hairs in place without the flaking and white residue that normally comes along with strong hold formulas. I *will* be incorporating these products into my everyday regimen, whilst wearing my OG bubble headband, ofc."
Beth Gillette, beauty editor
"The Versed Liquid Eyeshadows are a fresh take on a shimmery cream eyeshadow. They're not filled with glitter, nor do they feel chunky or hard to blend. I just dab some of the product onto my eyes, then blend it with a brush, and I get a pretty diffused look
I've also been keeping the creamy Bronzer Stick at my desk to give my skin some warmth and touch-up at the end of the work day before dinners, happy hours, etc. It's so easy to use and blend—tbh, I've even been using my fingers.
Oh, how I've been looking for a product like this. The Lip Blush is like a tinted lip balm but it isn't glossy, surprisingly—instead, it has a smooth, natural finish that really glides on my lips. It's unlike anything else I have in my arsenal (and I have a lot). It's not super moisturizing, but also definitely doesn't dry out my lips either. And the shades are perfect--they leave a soft look, but can be built up for something bolder too."
