You don't need to be an expert nose to know that the fragrance industry is booming. 2024 saw the emergence of new perfume brands like Noyz and Orebella, plus the rediscovery of old favorites with Tom Ford Santal Blush (thanks, Taylor Swift). Over 1.7 billion people tuned into #PerfumeTok. By the end of this year, the fragrance market is expected to be worth over $110 billion dollars.
Our collective scent obsession has—and will—continue into 2025, but in a more all-encompassing way. As fragrance expert Sable Yong put its, "we’re going to see every part of our daily, seemingly mundane lifestyles scented." Which means personal scent is evolving beyond scenting the person—it's about scenting everything personal to you in an elevated way, including your clothes, your home, and even your car.
Experts are predicting this category—luxuriously fragranced basics, if you will—as one of the biggest 2025 perfume trends actually. And I've been tracking down all of the coolest and most innovative iterations of the trend and compiled them all below. So if you want to make your clothes smell like your favorite perfume without even spraying it, or your car smell like roses, or your house smell like that $400 scent you love all through an app on your phone, it's yours. Truly. Read with your nose, people.
For the living room:
Candles are nice, but these days, there's a whole lot more to scenting your living room than striking a match. Feast your eyes on long-lasting room sprays and high-tech devices.
AromaTech AroMini BT Plus
Now 25% Off
Instead of water or steam, this diffuser uses filtered air to disperse the brand's scent blends through your home, resulting in a much stronger and cleaner fragrance experience. And you can control it all using an app.
Pura Plus Smart Fragrance Diffuser
Choose from a bajillion different scent options, drop two vials in the device, and control it all via the Pura app. You'll be playing perfume DJ for your living room, creating a whole scent ~experience~.
Boy Smells Hinoki Fantôme Room Spray
If you already love spraying Hinoki Fantôme on yourself, I'm willing to bet you'll like spraying it all over your living room. Feel free to mist this one with a heavy hand.
Diptyque Baies (Berries) Fragrance Hourglass Diffuser
Yes, it's a diffuser (just turn the hourglass over, and Diptyqes' beloved Baies scent will drip through for an hour) but it's also totally home decor. Two-for-one, IMO.
Parfums de Marly Dry Diffuser
Via the app you can direct this diffuser to turn on whenever you wanna smell your fave Parfums de Marly scents (Delina and Althair, plus two exclusive home scents). And it uses a really innovative dry diffusing technique that completely fills a room in a few minutes flat.
BORNTOSTANDOUT Mad Honey Fragrance Tag
If you're lucky enough to have a hall or linen closet (cries in NYC teeny studio), hang this scented fragrance tag inside the door or on a hanger to make everything inside smell warm and cozy.
For the kitchen:
We've evolved past the lemony kitchen cleaners of the past that make your nose crinkle. Modern kitchen scents—dish soaps, all-purpose sprays, floor cleaners, and more—take freshness to a different level, with florals and even foodie scents at the forefront.
Homecourt Steeped Rose Dish Soap
Now 20% Off
Do my dishes need to smell like rosewater, vanilla, ylang ylang? No, but it sure as heck does make me a lot more excited to scrub them every night, especially because this scent really lingers throughout my entire kitchen.
Method All-Purpose Cleaner Spray
Now 16% Off
Method's completely flipped the typical cleaning supply scents on their head, specifically with this subdued lavender spray that genuinely de-greases and de-gunks my stove and counter as well as the strong stuff.
Flamingo Estate Roma Heirloom Tomato Surface Cleaner
Now 20% Off
If there's anyone I trust to make kitchen scents, it's Flamingo Estate, the home of a massive garden that also produces olive oils, vinegar, and more. And this cleaner smells like the heirloom tomatoes the garden harvests every year (plus a dash of pepper and tarragon).
Diptyque La Droguerie Odor Removing Room Spray
Sometimes you just have those smells in the kitchen that you can't put your finger on, but you want 'em gone. This will effectively banish them and, in their place, leave behind a delicate, soft basil aroma.
Koala Eco Koala Eco Multi-Purpose Kitchen Cleaner
While this one does have a classic citrus scent, it's way more upscale than we're used to thanks to the plant-based, biodegradable formula that's both vegan and free of synthetic fragrance.
For your clothes:
Smellmaxxing, aka combining all the things to overhaul your scent and smell frickin' delicious, is the hip thing with the kids rn, btw. (No, actually, it was started by 12-year-old boys on TikTok.) And just about the best way to do it as an adult is with fancy laundry detergents and dryer sheets inspired by expensive perfumes.
DedCool Dedtergent Xtra Milk
If you're already spritzing your skin with musky, warm, spicy, vanilla perfumes, then why not also wash your clothes with them? And FYI: Scent tends to linger on clothes longer than skin (especially when you wash with it).
Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Laundry Detergent
This highly concentrated detergent subtly infuses the musky, fresh scent of Juliette Has A Gun's Not A Perfume throughout your clothes, sheets, towels, and whatever else you choose to wash in it.
Laundry Sauce Performance Laundry Fabric Softener
Yong introduced me to this new brand that offers detergents, pods, dryer sheets, and fabric softeners—all based on fine fragrance scent profiles. I'm personally loving this Eqyptian Rose fabric softener, which not only helps make your clothes feel luxurious and soft, but smell amazing too.
The Laundress Beauty Sleep Detergent
Want to nestle into a cozy, soft bed? Then, you should prob wash your sheets and pillowcases in this detergent, which smells like lavender, sandalwood, and jasmine—a fresh and warm blend that instantly can help calm you down at the end of a stressful day.
Dedcool X Ouai North Bondi Dedtergent
Ouai, known for its haircare, worked with Dedcool to create a few detergents in their classic scents, including North Bondi, which will essentially turn all of your laundry into beachwear for the foreseeable futuretnotes of bergamot, lemon, and violet.
Dedcool X Ouai Melrose Place Dryer Sheets
If you seriously want your clothes to retain a specific scent, make sure to throw in one of these Dedcool dryer sheets. Melrose Place is another collaboration with Ouai and smells like champagne, rose, and juicy lychee.
For your bedroom:
You're probably used to spraying yourself down with perfumes and body sprays in your bedroom. But that's not the only way to get your sleep space smelling good. From wall plug-ins to scented body lotions to slather on to linen sprays for your entire bed, your room deserves this scented upgrade.
Being Frenshe Hair, Body & Linen Mist Body Spray in Cashmere Vanilla
Spritz this on your PJs, hair, pillow, bedding, and all throughout your bedroom to take in the cozy vibes. It smells like worn-in cashmere and immediately makes a room feel warmer.

DedCool Xtra Milk Room + Linen Spray

The Laundress Beauty Sleep Fabric Spray
Pillow sprays aren't new, per se, but but spritzing down your sheets and blankets is a little unorthodox. But it feels totally normal when it's from The Laundress, and in this lavender scent that you already washed your linens with, it just makes sense.
For your car:
Throwback to the black ice air fresheners of your youth. These are nothing like that, aside from being a bit nostalgic. Instead, they've got a softer fragrance in a mix of warm, cozy, gourmand, and fresh scents. Plus, they look a whole lot less... intense, we'll say. Also, car diffusers? They're a thing now.
D.S. & Durga Big Sur After Rain Auto Fragrance
Making the inside of your car smell like the outside of the car might sound weird, but it works, so long as it's Big Sur After Rain. This air freshener isn't too strong but lasts months, according to reviewers.
Noyz Sh**ty Day Air Freshener
This air freshener is anything but a sh**ty day to me, personally, as it'll make your car smell like you just got back from a breezy, extra-salty beach.
If you want your car to feel like a whole damn spa, then you need a car diffuser. Yup, they exist. This lil cordless device can scent your car for up to 15 hours with one charge using a scent cartridge and is totally adjustable to your preferences too.
DedCool 01 "Taunt" Air Freshener
Testers say this makes their car smell so expensive, thanks to notes like bergamot, vanilla, and amber. Oh, and it just looks really cute hanging on your mirror, ofc.
