Sadly, I’m among the unlucky few that did not get tickets to the Renaissance tour (I’m still crying but it’s fine, I’m fine!), which means I’ve been hyperfixating on allll of the details from a distance—aka my iPhone screen. And when Queen B performed at her Washington D.C. show in the rain, naturally I had one question: What setting spray is Beyoncé using?! Luckily, the makeup gods (aka Patrick Starrr) answered my prayers by providing me with the name of the miracle working product: the One/Size On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray.
Patrick Starr revealed in a recent TikTok that makeup artist Rokael, who has been Bey's go-to makeup artist on tour for years, used the spray ahead of her rain show. Listen… When Beyoncé says jump, we say how high (and stay mute, IYKYK), so obvi the BeyHive sold out this product immediately. Not to mention, it’s been difficult to get your hands on this product in the first place since it is so good. And can you blame anyone? After all, it is what kept Beyoncé's makeup in-tact despite hours of performing in the rain while singing and dancing.
While the setting spray is currently out-of-stock on the brand’s website and on Sephora, a limited amount is still on sale at Kohl's and Amazon (note: the price is different than its usual retail one). You’re welcome, everyone!! Now, I know my word isn’t as golden as say, Beyoncé’s, to some people, but this has been my holy grail product for years. It’s what kept my makeup looking as fresh as it did all weekend long at Coachella, which if you’ve ever been out in the desert during this time, you know it is no easy task.
Out of the many, many products I’ve tested as part of my job (trust me, it’s a lot), this is one product I will always rebuy. The setting spray absorbs oils, mattifies the skin, and holds your makeup in place for up to 16 hours. As someone with oily skin, it’s difficult to find items that will keep my face from looking like I just stepped out of the sauna without caking it up with powder. This, however, has been my lifesaver in a bottle.
All this to say, I’d act quick if you’re in need of a good setting spray. Remember, Beyoncé only uses the best and this product certainly is that.
