The Met Gala always serves up incredible makeup inspo. All night long, I refresh my feeds, peruse all the stunning glam looks, choose my favorites, and then immediately add them to my beauty moodboard for future reference. One look I’ve seen over and over and pinned repeatedly because it looks so damn good? Smokey eyes.
Celebs like Zendaya, Sabrina Carpenter, Gabrielle Union, and soooo many more all sported smokey eyes on the red carpet (er, blue floral stairs?) this year. And not in a cursed 2016 cut-crease, ultra-silvery, and harsh way. The smokey eye vibes at the Met are eye-accentuating and giving subtle Hollywood glam. I completely swore off smokey eyes after college, but I guess it’s time to brush up on my shadow skills. Because if Zendaya is claiming a trend, you better believe it’s cool.
Keep scrolling for the best smokey eye looks of the night that I *will* be replicating for the foreseeable future, including the exact Charlotte Tilbury palette used to get Zendaya’s look.
Zendaya stunned the carpet in her understated suit and oversized hat. And of course, the brown smokey eye looks incredible with her bronzy glam.
Sabrina’s glowy glam is next level, complete with a dimensional smokey eye and a white waterline eyeliner.
I mean, this is one of my favorite glam looks from Kylie, like ever.
Ayo Edebiri’s elongated lash line and bronzed cut crease creates the most stunning smokey eye.
Gabrielle Union’s bold shadow + lash combo is everything to me.
Sydney Sweeney’s smokey lid makes her blue eyes pop, and we’re especially loving the shadow look coupled with the under-eye winged liner.
Coco Jones’s smokey eye gives a bold and lifted look. We’re also loving her sculptural edge moment.
