We may earn commission from links on this page, but we only recommend products we love. Promise.

This just in: Not all condoms suck. Sure, there are plenty of icky, sticky, rubbery condoms out there that smell like a balloon animal drenched in lube, but there are also plenty of superior condom brands making prophylactics you'll actually want to use (yes, really). The best-feeling condoms for you will all depend on your preferences and sensitivities, but our top picks all have a few things in common: 1) They're ultra-thin for a barely-there feel, 2) they're lightly lubricated for *just* the right amount of glide, and 3) they're free from nitrosamine, spermicide, bisphenol A, benzocaine, or any other unnecessary chemicals.

You're probs already familiar with the (many!) benefits of using condoms during sex, but as a quick reminder: They help protect against STIs and pregnancy. They make cleanup easier. They oftentimes make sex feel better for the receiver. And as sex educator Kenneth Play previously told Cosmo, condoms can allow penis-owners to last longer in bed since they help delay ejaculation. Magic!! Ofc, not all condoms are created equal, so we're here to discuss all the best-feeling condom brands out there, including both latex and non-latex options, as well as ribbed and dotted varieties.

Our top picks for the best-feeling condoms of 2024:

Read on for all the best-feeling condom options on the market right now, as well as expert tips for finding the best condom for your needs.

You may know LELO best for its next-level vibrators, but the brand's vegan condoms should be on your radar, too. Designed with a hexagonal structure that's textured on the inside for a better grip and impeccable fit, these natural latex condoms are both ultra-smooth and thin for an incredible feel, and they come in both a standard and extra-large size.

You won't be disappointed!"

Cons

  • Currently only available in packs of 30 or 60

Latex condoms have a reputation for smelling like straight-up balloons (which, ya know, kinda kills the mood)...but not these bbs from Maude. Free from casein, paraffins, talc, benzocaine, and cetyl alcohol, these 100 percent natural latex condoms don't have that strong, rubbery smell of cheaper brands—oh, and they're triple-tested for safety and available in two size option.

  • Material: Latex
  • Sizes: Rise or Rise Plus
  • Quantity: 30 or 60
  • Length: 7.1" (Rise) or 7.5" (Rise Plus)

best dotted condoms

Cake Dotted

Dotted

Pros

  • Studded texture is subtle but effective, according to reviews
  • Odorless with just the right amount of slip

Cons

  • Run a little bit small, so may not work for everyone

For something a lil different, give these dotted condoms from Cake a try. Like all the best condoms, these are free from chemicals, spermicide, BPA, glycerin, fragrances, and hormones, and they've got a subtle studded texture to give the recipient some added sensation during vaginal sex (but you may wanna steer clear of these during anal, as the added sensation may feel too rough).

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 12
  • Length: 7"
  • Width: 2"
  • Thickness: 0.075mm

Glowing Customer Review: "My wife and I wanted to spice up the bedroom a little bit and this one did the job. The dotted ones were a new experience for us and she loved it! We went through almost half the box already...They're THAT good."

4
best ribbed condoms

Champ Ribbed Condoms

Ribbed Condoms

Pros

  • Ribbing adds a fun twist to penetrative sex
  • Testers say they're pretty thin for a textured condom

Cons

  • Not as well-lubricated as some would like

If you wanna play ball with some ribbed condoms, these rubbers from Champ are calling your name. Subtly ribbed for sensation and lubricated with non-sticky, medical-grade silicone, these textured condoms are srsly high-quality—and though the ribbed condoms only come in one size, Champ does offer XL Condoms for those who need a bit more length.

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 12 or 24
  • Length: 7.1"
  • Width: 2.1"
  • Thickness: Not listed

Glowing Customer Review: "I highly recommend these condoms. They’re thin, comfortable, and have the perfect amount of ribbing. You won’t regret it!"

Cons

  • Have a bit of a rubbery smell, per some reviewers

Known for its planet-friendly period care and sexual wellness products, these CO2-neutral condoms are made with sustainably-harvested rubber through the Regenerative Rubber Initiative, and once opened, these condoms biodegrade in under a year (!!). Testers <3 the fun ribbed and dotted texture, and best of all, five percent of the company's profits go toward sustainable development projects.

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 6 or 12
  • Length: 7.1"

Come Connected

Pros

  • Suuuper thin for a barely-there feel
  • Buttercup packaging makes for easy opening

Cons

  • Not as readily available as other options

You're probs already familiar with Smile Makers' A+ toy collection, but did you know the company makes vagina-friendly condoms as well? Complete with easy-to-open buttercup packaging, Come Connected natural latex condoms provide extra lubrication, a barely-there feel, and a product that's free from any icky chemicals. My fave part: They're biodegradable, so you can rest easy knowing this condom won't sit in a landfill for years.

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 10
  • Length: 7.5"
  • Width: 2.2"
  • Thickness: 0.05mm

The condom [is] very incredibly thin, so I was able to enjoy the experience more. My partner agreed that he was able to feel more than [with] the brand he usually uses...and it certainly felt more like going without one."

best latex-free condoms

SKYN Elite Extra Lube Condoms

Elite Extra Lube Condoms

Pros

  • Softer and stretchier than latex condoms
  • Extra-lubed for tons of slip

Cons

  • Have slight scent that not everyone loves

Perhaps the most recognizable brand in the world of non-latex condoms, Skyn makes its products with polyisoprene, a synthetic version of natural rubber latex that's softer and just as capable of protecting against pregnancy and STDs. And while Skyn makes a wide range of condoms, my top pick has to be these extra-lubricated condoms, which are 15 percent thinner than standard Skyn condoms and lubed up for superior glide.

  • Material: Polyisoprene
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 12
  • Length: 7.1"
  • Width: 2.1"
  • Thickness: 0.063mm

Glowing Customer Review: "Always bought the thinnest version of Trojans but these are SO MUCH BETTER. We got the extra lubricated ones and no, there's no goop left on your hands after handling them. Even without the goopiness, it's perfectly smooth and requires no extra lubrication. Perfect for postpartum sex when your moisture levels have totally changed."

best vegan condoms

Jems Natural Latex Condoms

Natural Latex Condoms

Pros

  • So high-quality for the price
  • Well-lubricated and sensitive-skin approved

Cons

  • Some found the fit a lil *too* snug

Jems is a small woman-owned business is focused on making condoms a normal part of our beauty and self-care regimen, and its triple-tested natural latex condoms are devoid of any potentially harmful ingredients, like parabens, paraffins, talc, benzocaine, nonoxynol-9, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, gluten, and spermicide. Jems also donates five percent of its profits to underrepresented communities—plus, the packaging is so cute, no??

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 3, 12, or 24
  • Length: 7.1"
  • Width: 2.1"
  • Thickness: 0.055mm

best ultra-thin condoms

P.S. Latex Condoms

Latex Condoms

Pros

  • One of the thinnest condom options out there
  • Order comes in a cool magnetic storage box

Cons

  • Not as lubricated as some would like

For one of the thinnest latex condoms on the market, you'll want to check out this mail-order condom brand. With a thickness of just 45 microns, P.S. condoms are ridiculously thin (especially considering that standard condom thickness is around 70 microns). They come in two different size options, and yep, you better believe these are free from BPA, nitrosamine, and all that other bad stuff.

  • Material: Latex
  • Size: Regular or XL
  • Quantity: 12, 24, 36, or 48
  • Length: 7.5" (Regular) or 8.3" (XL)
  • Width: 2.1" (Regular) or 2.2" (XL)
  • Thickness: 0.045mm

Glowing Customer Review: "Feels great, no odor, and no irritation on my sensitive skin. Seriously the best feeling condom I’ve ever tried. I also love the little box the condoms are in. It magnetically closes and is discreet. Highly recommend!"

10
best polyurethane condoms

Trojan Supra BareSkin Non-Latex Condoms

Supra BareSkin Non-Latex Condoms

Pros

  • Can be used with oil-based lube
  • Super thin but still v durable

Cons

  • Not as stretchy as other options, so more prone to slipping and breaking

Made of thin plastic instead of rubber, polyurethane condoms (like these from Trojan Supra BareSkin) are known for being super-thin, having virtually no smell, and transferring heat more effectively than latex—and as a bonus, they're compatible with any type of lube. These also have a slightly looser fit, which means you'll feel less constricted...but you're also more likely to experience tearing and slipping with these, so keep that in mind.

  • Material: Polyurethane
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 3 or 6
  • Length: 7.1"
  • Width: 2.3"
  • Thickness: 0.046mm

Glowing Customer Review: "These are my go-to condom of choice. They transfer heat very well and are super sensitive. If I need to use a condom, these are the ones I want. I actually ENJOY using them, because they feel as close to using nothing at all as you can and still be using protection. Plus, they are polyurethane—SUPER THIN and no allergy issues for partners."

best polyisoprene condoms

Durex Avanti Bare RealFeel Condoms

Avanti Bare RealFeel Condoms

Pros

  • Easier to put on than most condoms
  • Latex-free and have barely any odor

Cons

  • Lube tends to dry a bit too quickly, per testers

Got a latex allergy? This option from Durex is made with polyisoprene for latex-free comfort. In addition to being allergen-free, these boast more of a natural skin-on-skin feeling than latex, thanks to the fact that they transfer heat and sensation very well. They also have an easier shape to roll on and stay in place during sex, and they're not scented, so they have barely any odor.

  • Material: Polyisoprene
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 3, 10, 24, or 36
  • Length: 7.7"
  • Width: 2.2"
  • Thickness: 0.05mm

Glowing Customer Review: "These are the best condoms I've ever used. They feel a bit more real than a latex condom and don't break me out in a rash after use. And for my husband, he actually likes them, and he had always hated condoms because he couldn't do his thing with one on until he tried this one. All in all, it works for us both."

NaturaLamb Non-Latex Condoms

Pros

  • Biodegradable and natural-feeling
  • Compatible with oil-based lubes

Cons

  • Not recommended for the prevention of STIs

Made with lamb cecum, these condoms provide a more natural and intimate feel than other condom options—not to mention they're compatible with oil-based lubes and much more biodegradable. Just note that natural membrane condoms are not recommended for the prevention of STIs since they're porous (though they are just as effective as latex, polyurethane, and polyisoprene condoms at preventing pregnancy).

  • Material: Lambskin
  • Size: Standard
  • Quantity: 3 or 10
  • Length: 6.5"
  • Width: 2.7"
  • Thickness: 0.07mm

Glowing Customer Review: "I love these things! It is the closest you will get to raw, and they are very comfortable for both the receiver and the giver during sex. I do not recommend these condoms if you are trying to protect yourself from STIs/STDs, but if you are in a monogamous relationship and/or get regularly tested with your partner(s) I 100% recommend them."

What type of condom feels best?

linebreak

This won't be true for everyone, but generally speaking, ultra-thin condoms will give you the most pleasure, since a thinner barrier will allow you (and your partner) to feel more heat, friction, moisture, and all that other good stuff. Condoms made with latex rubber tend to be the cheapest and most popular, but for those with latex allergies, you can find condoms that are both ultra-thin and latex-free.

Polyisoprene condoms are made from synthetic rubber and tend to be softer and stretchier than natural latex—plus, they adjust to your body temperature faster, making them feel more skin-like. There are also polyurethane condoms, which are made of very thin plastic instead of rubber and tend to have a looser, more comfortable fit. Finally, lambskin condoms have a very natural feel and don't contain any of the proteins that can trigger latex allergies.

Side note: While thinner condoms tend to feel the best, they may not be the best option for a longer-lasting session. According to sex educator Kenneth Play, you should try a thicker condom (such as a ribbed or dotted condom) if you're looking to prolong the experience since that thicker barrier can help decrease sensitivity.

How can you make condoms feel better?

linebreak

If you (or your penis-owning partner) are struggling to climax while wearing a condom, there's a good chance you're wearing a condom that doesn't fit properly. A too-tight condom simply isn't going to feel good no matter what brand you choose, while a too-loose condom can slip off during sex, which isn't good for anyone. Try out different brands and make sure you find the right fit for you—and, ofc, make sure you're putting the condom on properly, too.

"The tip must be squeezed as the condom is being rolled down the penis so that there is room for ejaculate," sex researcher Maureen Miller, PhD, previously told Cosmo. "Otherwise, the condom can burst." Miller also suggests adding a drop or two of water-based lube into the reservoir tip of the condom before putting it on for added stimulation.

How to choose the best-feeling condom

linebreak

Find the right size

When it comes to condom comfort, fit is eve-ry-thing. Luckily, condoms are available in a variety of sizes—including snug, standard, large, and extra-large varieties—so you can find a fit that works well for you. Champ has a great measurement guide for helping you find the right condom size.

Consider your preferred feel

Do you like a very thin condom with a barely-there feel? Latex and polyurethane condoms are your best bet, as they're typically thinner than polyisoprene condoms and can enhance sensitivity. And for a *very* realistic feel, lambskin condoms offer an even more intimate experience than latex and polyurethane condoms, as they transfer heat very, very feel. The downside to both polyurethane and lambskin condoms: They don't stretch nearly as well as polyisoprene and latex condoms, so they may not give you the same security.

Keep your lifestyle in mind

While all non-latex condoms offer similar levels of pregnancy prevention as latex condoms, they won't all give you the same protection against STIs. Natural membrane condoms (such as lambskin condoms) are porous and do not provide a substantial barrier against diseases, so if you're worried about transmission, you probably wanna stick with latex, polyisoprene, and polyurethane condoms.
