• The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 premiered on Hulu on Thursday, Nov. 13.
  • Fans were quick to notice that two key players in MomTok, Whitney Leavitt and Demi Engemann, aren’t in as many scenes as in previous seasons.
  • Here’s the truth about Demi and Whitney’s screen time in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3.

MomTok is officially back, y’all. But as we throw on cozy loungewear, grab dirty sodas, and gather around our couches to tune in to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3, we can’t help but wonder…where are Demi Engemann and Whitney Leavitt? All 10 episodes of the fan-favorite Hulu series dropped at once, and viewers were quick to notice that the MomTok members had less screen time than in previous seasons.

Demi and Whitney were pretty much painted as the villains over the first two seasons of the show, so it comes as a shock that they were seemingly featured less this time around. Mikayla Matthews explained everyone’s standing in MomTok during the season 3 premiere, sharing that Taylor Frankie Paul and Jen Affleck had taken temporary breaks to focus on their mental health, while Whitney had allegedly “left MomTok again” in pursuit of bigger projects.

“Recently, we all renegotiated our contracts, but Whitney apparently didn’t want more money. She wanted tickets to the Oscars and a scripted role in another TV show,” Mikaya dished. “Clearly, she’s not here, so she didn’t get it.”

Whitney later cleared up her absence and responded to Mikayla’s theories when she appeared in the fifth episode of the season. And while she said the Oscars ticket fiasco was “bullshit,” she did admit that she asked for a scripted role in another show, saying, “Yeah, a girl knows what she wants.”

She also got candid about the real reason she returned for Mormon Wives, admitting that she had an ulterior motive to audition for Dancing With the Stars.

As for Demi, Mikayla claimed that she wanted to “get paid three times more than everyone else” to be on the show, adding, “When she didn’t get that, she officially walked away from MomTok.”

Demi seemed to echo that sentiment when she showed up in episode six and said there was “a lot” she considered when she decided to leave #MomTok. “Ultimately, it came down to just feeling like I wasn’t being valued,” she explained.

However, Demi alluded to a potential comeback at the end of season 3, when she told producers, “I am back to set the record straight. I’m back to tell the truth and I don’t feel like I’ve had a fair chance at sharing my story.”
