- Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will still be known as the "York sisters" amid Prince Andrew giving up his title.
- The royal sisters will still be invited to royal events including Christmas in Sandringham.
- King Charles made it clear that their status will be "preserved."
Now that disgraced royal Prince Andrew has been untitled and banned from all future royal events (including Christmas and the coronation), questions remain about his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. And it looks like—for now—their status in the royal family is largely unaffected.
According to The Times, King Charles has "made it clear" that Eugenie and Beatrice's statuses will be "preserved." They will still be known as the "York Sisters" despite their father giving up his "Duke of York" title, which a source says is a "happy outcome of [their] father’s titles being extant but inactive."
Meanwhile, the sisters will still be invited to celebrate Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham due to both King Charles and Prince William being fond of them.
That said, Beatrice and Eugenie aren't working royals, which means they could have their titles revoked once Prince William becomes King.
The Daily Beast reports that Wills plans to "remove princely titles from all non-working royals" when he steps up to the throne, and also will strip everyone of their honorific "HRH" titles (which stand for "his/her royal highness"). To do this, he'll issue an executive royal order (aka "letters patent") early in his reign.
FYI, his own children's titles will allegedly be "parked" until they're old enough to decide if they want to be working royals or not.
