- There are rumors that Prince William threatened to strip Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice of their royal titles if Prince Andrew doesn't give up the Royal Lodge.
- Prince Andrew currently lives in the mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
- The disgraced royal has an iron clad lease, and is resisting eviction attempts.
Prince William has reportedly turned to new methods in an attempt to get his disgraced uncle Prince Andrew to leave the Royal Lodge (aka the giant mansion he refuses to move out of).
According to the News Agents podcast hosted by Emily Maitlis (who conducted Prince Andrew's infamous BBC interview), William potentially threatened his cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, with the removal of their titles if Andrew doesn't give up his iron-clad lease.
Per Maitlis (via the Daily Beast), on Thursday night "the Palace told ITN and the Press Association—the big wire services—to crew the gates outside Royal Lodge at 8 p.m. because, and this was the phrase they used, 'there may be passing traffic.' Nothing more was said — just that there may be passing traffic."
She went on to reveal, "There was a question over whether there had been, earlier in the day, a meeting between Prince William and the princesses Beatrice and Eugenie saying, 'You’ve got to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge, otherwise we will start re-examining the state of your own titles.' They are, at the moment, allowed to be princesses, but there was pressure being put on them. Obviously, you can see why Andrew, as a father, would want to keep his daughters happy and keep their titles in place."
This comes amid reports that Andrew could agree to leave the Royal Lodge if he gets two homes in return: Frogmore Cottage and Adelaide Cottage. More on that below.
