Although Kate Middleton and Prince William have been together for more than 20 years, the royal couple remains relatively low-key. So, you already know we caught their sweet and subtle moment of PDA from the state banquet at Windsor Castle on Sept. 17.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were dressed to the nines for the occasion, as William wore his military honors and Kate wore a silk gown with an embroidered gold Chantilly lace evening coat on top. She also donned Princess Diana’s favorite Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara with Queen Elizabeth II’s sparkling earrings.
That evening, they posted a rare photo of them holding hands in the dark to their Instagram Stories, captioned, “Behind the Scenes.” The couple also shared a candid shot of them walking through Windsor Castle, where they hosted President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
According to People, the banquet hosted 160 guests, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, energy executive Paula Reynolds, biotech CEO Dame Emma Walmsley and her spouse, David Owen, and Tiffany Trump and her husband, business executive Michael Boulos.
President Trump, who was seated next to Kate, praised her and thanked the royals for hosting them. “Melania and I are delighted to visit with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine. So radiant, so healthy and so beautiful,” Trump said, per the publication. “It’s really a great honor. Thank you.”
The high-profile event also featured elaborate table settings and decor around the castle, which William and Kate also shared on their Instagram Stories, along with a closer look at their outfits on their profile’s grid.
