Here we are, eight weeks later, our worst fears confirmed: In their opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, effectively ending abortion access for millions of people across our country.
Rage is a natural response, and the rage of mostly women—although it should be the rage of everyone—will get a lot of airtime in the coming months and years. As it should.
But there’s a lot more than that happening already. There’s grassroots optimism across every single state, which is hard to fathom but nevertheless very real (see proof). There’s a new generation now galvanized—and changing their plans—according to a Cosmo survey of pro-choice Gen Zers, a full 90 percent of whom believe it’s in their power to make significant impact on safe abortion access.
We aim to do the same thing with the stories below: Channel anguish into action, show you that there is a path forward, and leave you with a renewed sense of energy, maybe even with a little bit of hope.
