When you hear the word "organic," the first word that may come to mind is "expensive." And it's true—organic products do tend to be pricier due to higher production and labor costs, as well as limited supply. But you can reduce your carbon footprint by eating organic food, purchasing clean beauty products, and shopping sustainable clothing brands. And if you wanna go the extra mile, you can even buy vegan condoms and organic condoms...well, kind of. Allow us to explain.
Condoms are single-use products (duh) that contribute to waste, especially since almost all condoms are made from latex or a latex derivative, which takes legit forever to degrade. However! You can find condoms that are better for the environment or at least more sustainable. Wanna get vegan condoms? Then make sure you avoid those that contain casein or are made with lambskin (as some non-latex condoms are). But if you want condoms that are both vegan *and* earth-friendly, then you'll want to look for condoms with fewer (if any!) chemicals, dyes, and additives, like these top-rated options below.

QQ: Can you get organic condoms?
According to Meika Hollender, co-founder and CEO of Sustain, there's no such thing as an "organic" condom at this point in time because there's no organic verifying body that certifies condoms. It's also important to note that even though most condoms are made with naturally-occurring latex, it doesn't necessarily guarantee that your condoms are vegan.
"Historically, some condoms used to use casein (an animal by-product) in the manufacturing process, which would have made them non-vegan," explains Milla Impola, a rep for condom company Global Protection Corp. However, she says it's increasingly rare to see condoms that are still made with casein these days—and ofc, being vegan doesn't mean a condom is organic or chemical-free. Instead, you can look for Fair Trade-certified, nitrosamine-free, and vegan condoms if you’d like to cut down on chemicals and/or support more ethical condom companies.
