We’ve Tested Hundreds of Perfumes This Year—but These Amazon Picks Would Make Amazing Gifts

Our fave picks from Versace, Lancôme, Armani, and more.

By

Every year, I wait until the absolute last second to buy gifts for people. Holidays, birthdays, everything—I'm always a last-minute shopper. But I've found lowkey the best hack ever for gifting: Perfumes on Amazon. I'm a beauty editor, so I love gifting someone one of my signature fragrances or an iconic perfume they maybe haven't sniffed before. But most other retailers, it can take a week or so to get to me, which is precious time my procrastinating self simply does not have. But with Amazon Prime, I get a luxury perfume at my door in two days.

I've researched legit all of the Cosmo team's favorite perfumes (we've tested hundreds this year, FYI) to see which are available on Amazon for quick and fast shipping. Expect really great brands, like Lancôme, Phlur, Dedcool, Armani, Parfums de Marly—the list goes on. Here's a sneak peek at our picks:

Snag one of the below if you want to get a new scent quick. We're actually professional shoppers (and scent sniffers), so we know what we're talking about.

“This is simply epitome of a clean and fresh scent. When I spritz this on, I just feel like the most confident version of myself (hence the name). It's also slightly juicy and sweet, while still being genderless and not overly feminine. When I go on long trips and can only pack one scent, I always choose this one.”—JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

"This is actually one of my most complimented perfumes. It gives me that Rihanna effect—everyone I cross paths with can't get enough of my scent. In fact, the first day I wore it, a cab driver immediately asked for the link so he could buy it for his sister."—SAMANTHA OLSON, ASSISTANT NEWS EDITOR

“Delina smells like classic femininity—and not in a tradwife, kind of way. The florals are juicy and fresh--not reminiscent of a garden, rather a blooming bouquet. I thought I hated florals before I finally tried Delina, and now it's one of my go-to scents. And gosh does it last. One single spritz on each wrist and I'll get whiffs all day long."—BG

“I wore this perfume almost exclusively from 2020 to 2022, and it reminds me of those treasured nights out we got during the pandemic. This makes sense, considering the whole speakeasy vibe of the scent. It’s forbidden and deep—kinda how it felt to finally go get a drink at a bar after we all got vaccinated.”—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

"Before vanilla perfumes took over shelves, this was the first that sent me on a gourmand hunt. It's creamy and ultra sweet, opening with coconut water for a really smooth and not sickly sweetness. Cashmeran at the base makes it super cozy for winter too."—BG

"This new launch might just rival Cheirosa 62 as our favourite. It's more grown-up that other SdJ scents as, alongside warm vanilla, it has pink pepper, and amber musk at play – key notes in some of the Cosmo team’s favourite scents like Glossier You, Byredo’s Rose of No Man’s Land, and Gucci Guilty."—KEEKS REID, BEAUTY DIRECTOR, COSMOPOLITAN U.K.

"Ruby Orchid is the sexy, fall version of Flowerbomb, IMO. It's deeper and more full-bodied, but without the spiciness of the original. Instead, it's packed with a vanilla bean undertone that makes me smell yummy."—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

"If you wanna be able to whip your hair back and forth and make everyone around you go 'woah, who smells so good,' grab this—especially while it's on sale. A few spritzes of this, even in my lil French bob haircut, and I can smell the ripe cherry and vanilla notes for hours."—BG

"In my opinion, Father Figure is Phlur's magnum opus. Its balanced blend of green fig, dewy florals and cozy sandalwood works for literally every season, occasion, and time of day. It's clean and fresh but not too fresh, courtesy of some powdery iris notes that give it a lived-in quality. Not only is this my favorite Phlur fragrance, but it’s one of my favorite fragrances of all time. I have at least 40 full bottles of perfumes in my collection, but I’ve almost gone through the entire bottle of Father Figure in less than two years. I don’t have a signature scent, but this comes pretty damn close."—LAUREN GRUBER, ASSOCIATE COMMERCE EDITOR

"Bar none, I've gotten the most compliments when I'm wearing Billie Eilish's original scent than any other perfume. Today, I wore it to the office, and eight of my coworkers have already badgered me about what perfume I'm wearing, because I smell so good. Eilish smells like an ultra-sweet vanilla cloud. It's loaded with sugar, cacao, musk, red berries, and amber that make it warm and cozy."—BG

"I’m legit obsessed with Le Monde Gourmande, an affordable line of fragrances that includes this light and sweet vanilla perfume. It’s definitely decadent—hello, vanilla, brown sugar, and apricot—but the amber and jasmine help tone it down a bit from being too rich and heavy. I actually wear this in big crowds a lot without worrying it’ll give someone a headache. But although this is an eau de parfum (which usually means it is denser and has a stronger scent profile, meaning it’ll last longer), this perfume is fairly weak, which I actually prefer for days when I just want a slight waft of my fragrance."—BG

"If it's good enough for Olivia Rodrigo, it's good enough for me—that's my motto. But actually, I was wearing this O.G. Idôle perfume for a long time before I found out Olivia loved it (and before she partnered with the brand to launch Idôle Power, the warm woody flanker). It lasts such a long time on my skin. One spray on my wrists in the morning, and I can still smell the rosey scent wafting through the air in the afternoon."—BG

"Versace Bright Crystal was the perfume I purchased the day before I started my job at Cosmo because it felt like a Big Girl Scent. Professional and classic, but soft and cutesy. Still to this day—three years later—I wear it whenever I want to feel like the most chic, put-together version of myself. Ya know, before the deadlines and real-life hit of 'Cosmo beauty editor' hit. It being more than 50 percent off right now for Prime Day is actually wild to me. I've never seen it at such a low price."—BG

"During my friend group’s yearly ski trips, I don’t participate in the slopes shenanigans (lol), but I do get in on the aprés action at the lodge donning this aptly named perfume from Ellis Brooklyn. I get an instant rush of crisp mountain air (without even stepping outside), thanks to a strong burst of fresh evergreen trees and juicy juniper berry notes. Sure, it's a bit intense at first, but the longer it sits on my skin, the more vanilla, bourbon, and praline peek through, softening and sweetening it up."—MH
