Attention everyone who’s been in an emotionally committed relationship with Patrick Schwarzenegger since he made this face in The White Lotus:
We’re late to the party. Not only is Patrick in an actual committed relationship (the man is engaged), his relationship history is stacked with public—and often messy—romances for us to go over. Let’s get into it.
Taylor Swift: 2012 (JUST! A! FALSE! RUMOR!)
Before you completely spiral, this was an unsubstantiated rumor. One that kicked off when Patrick and Taylor were spotted spending Fourth of July weekend together at the Kennedys’ Cape Cod compound—prompting speculation from the likes of People. But as we all know, Tay went on to date Conor Kennedy—not Patrick!
AJ Michalka: Also 2012
Patrick and AJ were linked over Halloween, but it was literally just because they went to a party together. In other words, there’s no proof that they were actually dating!
Taylor Burns: 2013 to 2014
Patrick and Taylor met at USC and dated for a couple years in college, but not much is known about their relationship since it was mostly going down pre-fame. However, if you need proof of their vibes, Us Weekly published this article in 2013: “Patrick Schwarzenegger Kisses Girlfriend Tootsie Burns, Shows Off Buff Body.”
Miley Cyrus: 2014
Miley and Patrick didn’t date for long, but it was pretty dramatic. First of all, they were very public:
But things took a turn when Patrick—per TMZ—“got very close with some OTHER chick in Cabo.” He denied cheating in since-deleted tweets, saying, “Omg. It’s one of my best friend’s girlfriend...Would NEVER do anything against my GF..... Girls have guy friends and guys have friends that are girls...”
But the damage was done, and he and Miley split a few weeks later. According to People, “They’re just in two different places in their lives. He’s in college and she’s focused on her music and career.”
Abby Champion: 2015 to Current
Patrick and Abby met back in 2015 after she moved to California to become a model. Per Us Weekly, they were first seen together in September at the Nice Guy. A classic Hollywood love story!
The pair got engaged a few years later in 2023 and have been going strong since:
Patrick told People in February, “When we first met, I was 21, she was 18. So you’re very different people and humans when you’re that age versus now I’m 31, she’s 27. Over the course of the years, I just continuously fell in love with her more and more, with the kind of human that she was becoming and that the relationship was becoming.”
