Every year, I go into fall kicking and screaming, and clutching onto my summer whites like Kyle Cooke clings to the last weekend of August—and his youth. I'm never quite ready to retire my flip-flops for the season or pledge my allegiance to knitwear, but there's one thing that keeps me going: Prime's Big Deal Days. ICYMI, Amazon hosts an annual fall offshoot of its summer mega-sale—an October Prime Day, if you will. And while there are definitely some meh deals out there, there are some legit steals too.
Since there's less than a day left to shop—Prime's Big Deals Days ends at 11:59 PT tonight, FYI—I'm enlisting former Summer House star and certified fashion girly Paige DeSorbo to help round out my online cart. During a recent episode of her Amazon livestream series, the Daphne founder shared her latest affordable haul—and it's packed with style inspo and Prime Day deals.
While there's a lot to unpack (and purchase!), let's start with Paige's non-negotiable for fall: A good cardigan. Her go-to style—a button-up design she owns in not one, not two, but three colors—is under $25 right now.
"This black one, I have in a size XS because I wanted it to be a little more fitted," she explains while showing off the $35 style. "I also have a white one in a medium, because I wanted it a little bigger, and then I have a pink one in just a small. Cardigans really run all different sizes in terms of how you want them to fit."
She raves about the design's "no collar" collar—"I feel like it's a little chiller over a tank top or a t-shirt"—as well as the lightweight knit fabric and buttons. "There are a lot of cardigans that I won’t get them because the buttons are off," Paige adds. "I’m like, 'who picked the button for this outfit because it’s all wrong!'"
While there were a few items from the haul Paige didn't love quite enough to keep—like this polka dot midi skirt that she says isn't necessary for fall—her fave jackets are a must. And good news for us, they're all under $35. This on-sale suede style looked so much more expensive than it is and the bomber was a total sleeper—it's so chic IRL and just $25.
Since a seasonal shopping spree isn't complete without a few new shoes (I don't make the rules! I just enforce them!), I was fully sat for the accessories segment.
"These loafers I’m obsessed with. They’re kind of giving expensive designer vibes," Paige says of the $50 style. "This is giving more of a YSL vibe," she adds, before holding up a second (also on-sale) pair that she says gives more Bottega. "I'm obsessed with both of these. "
She even found an autumnal replacement for the ballet flats she wore all summer and "beat up." And despite their $40 price tag, they look "so much more expensive than they are."
Me? I'll be living in these jeans and an oversized sweater until Paige tells me to start dressing for spring. <3
