Or maybe you reimagine your shared space by freshening up your bedroom to signal the start of this new chapter.”
If you don’t actually know what you seek, remember: Part of the fun is figuring it out. To do that, sex expert and coach Niki Davis-Fainbloom suggests filling out a yes-no-maybe list and thinking about what you’re interested in trying in the upcoming year. “Is this the year you explore having sex outside of the bedroom? Is it time to get more comfortable discussing and exploring your fetishes or kinks?” she asks.
And when you want to introduce something a little edgy, but don’t know quite how to bring it up to your partner, try a light, low-pressure conversion. “Use phrases such as ‘I’ve been curious about…’ or ‘How would you feel about exploring…?’ to keep the conversation inviting,” says Tanner. Ask if there’s anything they want to explore too. This mutual collaboration can be super-hot—you’re essentially creating your own private, sexy world together, making it the perfect way to kick start a new year with your partner at your side. (Or, you know, in your bed.)
