It’s been three years since founding Try Guys member Ned Fulmer left the group after having an affair with an employee. Ned immediately dropped out of the public eye, stopped posting on Instagram, and was swiftly erased from Try Guys videos. And yet, somehow, Ned Fulmer has returned—and he’s ready to talk about the Try Guys cheating scandal.

“I feel ready to share my story and to move on into a new chapter,” Ned told People in his first interview since the 2022 cheating scandal, adding, “For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet. I didn’t think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health.”

In the aftermath of Ned’s abrupt departure from The Try Guys, fans struggled to reconcile the idea of self-described “Wife Guy” Ned with the man who had cheated on his wife, Ariel Fulmer, with an employee. Looking back, Ned told People he sees that this was one of the reasons his affair went so viral that Saturday Night Live spoofed the Try Guys video announcing the news.

“I understand that’s why it was such a big scandal—because it’s ironic and it feels like a rug pull to people,” he said. “That must have been really painful and devastating to viewers.”

Not quite as painful, of course, as it must have been for his wife, who at the time was an active member of the Try Guys universe with her own online following. “That was most devastating to work through and to realize—how much pain I had caused her,” he told People. “If I were looking at a past version of myself, how I’d really want to change [is] the way I’d been interacting with her.”

To answer the question on every fan’s mind: Yes, thanks to intense couples therapy, Ned and Ariel are still together and, according to him, their marriage is “stronger than it was before.”

In fact, they are doing so well that Ariel even agreed to be Ned’s first guest on his new podcast, Rock Bottom. Speaking with People, Ned teased a “brutal” but rewarding conversation that he hopes will “reestablish the context” of who he is today and satisfy fans.

So, is that a “no” on addressing the very real concern about his inappropriate workplace relationship that may or may not have blown up a young woman’s career? I guess we’ll have to wait until the first episode of Rock Bottom premieres Wednesday, Sept. 17, to find out.
