- Earlier this month, an insider for the Daily Mail claimed “Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim” against David Harbour “before they started shooting the last season” of Stranger Things.
- Millie and David reunited at the world premiere of ST5 and appeared cordial as they posed for photos together.
- A TikToker has come through with a lip-reading of their interaction on the red carpet, which shows what really happened at the premiere.
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have played father-daughter duo Eleven and Jim Hopper on Stranger Things for the greater part of the last decade, and their tradition of taking sweet red carpet photos together is going strong as the fifth and final season of the show approaches.
Exhibit A:
Aaand exhibit B, where Millie was caught laughing at some punchlines made by David on the carpet:
Now, TikTok lip-reader Jackie Gonzalez (aka @tismejackieg) has weighed in and revealed the actual convo Millie and David had on the red carpet.
“I’m not as handsome as Jake!” David joked, referring to Millie’s husband, Jake Bongiovi. “I’m not. It’s not my fault, it’s just genetics, so…” he continued, to which MBB replied, “It’s my genes.”
She then asked David if he “ever recognizes” the photographers on red carpets. “I recognize them all the time, it’s usually the same people every time,” Millie said as they walked away.
It’s important to note that fans were preparing for some awkward interactions between the pair at this year’s premiere, as the Daily Mail recently reported that MBB had filed a “harassment and bullying claim” against her co-star before the season even started filming.
An insider told the publication that “there were pages and pages of accusations” against David and that “the investigation went on for months.” The piece also came at an...interesting time, considering David’s ex, Lily Allen, had just dropped a tell-all album, West End Girl, about the end of their marriage.
One of Stranger Things’ executive producers and directors, Shawn Levy, dispelled the bullying rumors in a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “At the end of the day, that’s the job—you have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe. So we did everything to build that environment, and we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
He added, “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they’ve ranged from wildly inaccurate to…there’s so much noise around it, but the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been [the] bedrock.”
There ya have it!
