Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene have officially called it quits, making them the third Love Island USA season 7 couple whose love couldn’t last outside the villa. But in an interesting development, it seems other islanders still have their eyes set on Chelley.
Chelley revealed that she and Ace had split up during an interview with SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio on Friday, December 12—nearly five months after Love Island aired this summer.
“Ace and I actually decided to part ways,” Chelley told the outlet. “It really was a tough decision, like, for the both of us, and very hard to decide.”
However, once fellow islander Austin Shepard caught wind of the news on The Shade Room, he took the opportunity to drop a comment—and although it was simple, it was pretty telling. Underneath TSR’s Instagram post breaking the news, Austin commented a side-eye emoji.
ICYMI, Austin attempted to pursue Chelley early on in the season before she coupled up with Ace, who had previously been paired with national treasure, Amaya “Papaya” Espinal. This pretty much had the internet blazing with mixed reactions when Austin dropped a comment on the recent news regarding Chelley and Ace’s split.
“Not him trying to run the ball back… buddy the game BEEN over,” one fan wrote on TikTok, while another added, “Austin really thought he was slick huh.”
Others pointed out that Austin’s sudden swoop is reminiscent of Iris Kendall and TJ Palma, who rekindled their romance after she broke up with her final Love Island pairing, Pepe Garcia Gonzalez.
So…is Austin really attempting to pull an Iris and TJ? Only time will tell, and we’ll be holding out for more details on ^^^ all of this.
