Hear ye, hear ye, the time has finally come. Pantone, aka the authority on all things color, dropped its 2024 color of the year and it's *pause for dramatic effect* Peach Fuzz (PANTONE 13-1023)! I know, I know, this definitely might make you want to sprint toward your dermaplane, but just hold off on the shaving tools and hear me out, kay? Because I have a feeling you might want to keep this peach fuzz around. Per Pantone, this year's hue is "a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” Okay wow. Did I just, like, take a vitamin or something? Because I suddenly feel better after just reading that.
"We wanted something that had that tactile quality," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “And peach fuzz...it’s just soft and touchable. It's a color that I want to bring into my environment. I want to feel it against my face.” In other words? The color gives all the warm and, well, fuzzies that one person can possibly endure. So it's practically a necessity to include in your cramped lil apartment.
JIC you needed more convincing, Laetitia Gorra, founder of ROARKE Design Studio, said Peach Fuzz “evokes playfulness and encouragement.” Plus, she said, the subdued, yet inviting tone is "a perfectly appropriate color to encapsulate a positive fresh start," so it's great to incorporate at the top of a new year. Gorra painted her kitchen in the pigment and complemented it with loads of green accents (yes, please!). But if you want to experiment with the color without fully committing, you can use the muted orange shade in a bunch of subtle, smaller ways too—like with a pop of a tea kettle on the stove, a hung piece of artwork, or even an accent rug.
That said, if you're itching to get this cuddly color into your home in 2024, we've got you covered. Whether it's through chic candles, luxe bedding, or cozy throw blankets, we have a few suggestions on how you can incorporate Peach Fuzz, and all it's good vibes, in your decor and space all year long. Now, get to scrolling and pinning these things to your mood board!
