Back in high school, my opinions on cars were largely determined by what I saw on my Tumblr feed (it’s healthy to age ourselves every once in a while!) Basically, if King Kylie was driving it, it was immediately on my Pinterest board. Now, of course, there are a few more things to consider when making the very huge decision to buy a car. It still has to look fab, but it also needs good mileage, good tech — you know, all of the grown up stuff. I’ve been hearing chatter about Audi’s new A6 Sportback e-tron and, after doing some digging, there is not one box it didn’t check. Haven’t been in tune with the hype? No problem, let’s get into the details.

Range

Being able to get where you need to go without a bunch of fuel stops is a huge deal, especially when it comes to electric cars. Trust me, my many upstate NY road trips have revealed that not every rest stop or gas station has entered the charging station era (yet). Luckily, Audi’s new A6 Sportback e-tron can take you over 390 miles on a full charge. Don’t worry, I’m also better with visuals: that’s a road trip from NYC out east to the Hamptons, stopping at a restaurant for lunch, and then driving back to your hotel, all without needing a recharge.

Interior

In the past, when it came to a car’s interior tech, I was just thankful if it had Apple Car Play. But after looking at the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron’s offerings? Let’s just say I’ve been inspired to dream big. There’s the voice assisted commands that let you change your music, your navigation or make phone calls without ever taking your hands off the wheel. There’s the 11.9 inch, wrap-around screen that can be divided between the front seat passenger and the driver, so your friend riding shot-gun can watch literal movies while you’re focused on the directions. And not just movies! The Audi App gives you access to streaming content, games, wi-fi — basically, no one needs to play any “I Spy” for the foreseeable future (bless).

Comfort & Space

I will always love a car with fold down seats. Always. Thankfully, the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron has a second row that, when folded flat, offers 39.9 cubic feet of space in the back. For my visual people, this of course means adding additional people to a road trip crew, but it’s also incredible for luggage, tons of groceries, snowboards, skis, and anything else you want to toss in the back.
