Your Tarot Card Reading for the Week of September 22

You don't need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread, to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Cosmically, there’s a lot going on this week: Libra season, the autumn equinox, and Mars moving into Scorpio. Much of that represents a shift from action to introspection, decision-making to research, planning to reflection. We need to do the legwork of thinking and understanding before we move into the activation phase of anything. Temperance acknowledges the pivotal nature of this week, the shift that we’re all unconsciously making and somehow feeling like an unseen force nudging us to slow down and rest. You might feel sensitive, out of sorts, tired, or like your usual routine isn’t cutting it. And that’s okay. It's a signal to follow your intuition, your bodily instincts, your physical needs (our body often ‘gets’ stuff long before our mind). It’s time for change.

A brief moment of unhappiness will visit with you this week which, trust me, I wouldn’t bother you with unless for a good reason. And the good reason is that you mustn’t feel overwhelmed by it or overthink it—let the feeling rise and then fall again. What will be left behind, like a residue or shadow, is a new insight about this old wound. And THIS is the hidden gem of the process, this is what is worthwhile in your processing work. Extract the gem, turn it over and consider its impact on your life now, and use to make a new, surprising, and positive choice.

Education is the underlying theme of this week, be it because you’re going on a course, doing some research or reading up on something, seeking a mentor, joining a class, attending a lecture, or even planning for a return to formal education in the year ahead. It’s time to learn, and what you’re going to learn will enhance your life options and opportunities, so think about what knowledge or skill gaps, if filled, would improve your status, confidence, position and potential. Knowledge is power. Use it accordingly.

I am a big fan of the King of Pentacles: he is a survivor, a leader, a practical, and shrewd operator who life cannot beat! We all get to this level; maturity has its bonuses and reaching King of Pentacles status is one of them! So, embrace your experience, your stage of the journey, your scars and old wounds, your wisdom and knowledge, your riches and rewards. You are the sum of so much living already, and imagine what’s still all to come. Plan for the future knowing that it’s a future you (older, wiser, shrewder, richer) who will live it. With that in mind, be bold and daring and optimistic. Plan something today for the future that really stretches the boundaries and feasibilitiesI think you can do it! This is the week to plant that seed.

The Empress is a beautiful, feminine totem of family, love, passion, creativity, fertility, nature, and home. All the best things in life, really! You are feeling Empressy right now and this internal feeling could pour out into a new relationship, your home, your (growing) family, your creative projects or ideas, or even your gardening! These are the areas in play, and expansion and growth is the action. Put the two together and where does that lead you? Libra and Taurus folk might also become important to you right now. Expect to feel blissful when you begin to expand into an area that warms your heart.

Tangling with a Leo can be a tricky enterprise because you are proud, regal, authoritative, and uber confident. Power dynamics matter in your realm because you like to be top dog (or cat) and, if not, there better be a good reason. The Emperor sees you wrestling with someone, or something, in your life that has gotten a foothold over you and perhaps should not. Seek to understand the reasons why you’re in this position and what they (or it) are gaining here. And then seek to redress the balance through discussion, compromise, and eventually just being and acting differently to force the shift. You should be leading. Back yourself.

Confession: I’ve never liked this tarot card. It’s so confusing—like, is it about lovers, or Geminis, or affairs, or temptation, or confusion, or WHAT? Yup. All of that. What resonates? Take your pick. Life IS messy, that’s for sure, and no one single week is just about one single thing or mood. So, expect a week full of different energies, opportunities, ideas, and feelings. Some positive, some neutral, some negative, but all emotive and useful. Lean in, live large, and keep striving for the clarity that helps you proceed.

Don’t try and do it all by yourself, Libra, because there is a groundswell of goodwill and favor towards you that, if tapped into, could unlock your progress and help you go further, faster than you think possible. Also, asking for help and sharing your ideas warms folk to you even more. So it’s a win/win: you get even more support and your ambitions are super-fueled. This pertains mostly to practical matters- in home, money, or work. And you get this help because of all the help you’ve given others over the years, it’s good karma, so you deserve it, don’t feel humble or shy.

This is the year of The Hermit because 2025=9, and the ninth card of the tarot is—you guessed it—The Hermit. So this week is a pivot point for your whole year is some way. What gives? Well, it’s likely to be more of a mental shift or revelation than a circumstantial change or impact. A lightbulb moment, an epiphany, a lightning strike of insight that absolutely changes how you see something and, importantly, what you’re going to do next. Everything starts within, in our minds. And your mind is about to do a major 180 pivot! Get ready.

Believe in your own wisdom and express yourself openly. Have faith in what you think and tell folk about it. Be led by your own convictions. Trust that your opinion is valid and the right compass to guide you. Too often, we follow the crowd, let the loudest voice override our inner one, fall prey to emotional manipulation, collapse back to a familiar echo chamber or bias. You are clever, independent, and capable of deep critical thinking. Use those powers to create your own point of view and follow it through. You are a lion not a sheep.

Take a vacation from your own high standards and perfectionism tendencies this week, Cap! Let it all go. Let things flow. Let outcomes be what they are. Let life happen without your force or control. I promise that you will encounter things you didn’t expect and perhaps thought would be bad—but actually prove to be good! The Universe likes to surprise you, the Universe has goodies and gifts to bestow (which you deserve, you work so hard) but can’t because you’re too focused on one singular pathway and outcome. Be floppy and flexible and see what comes!

Aquarius has a secret trait, to a fault, and it’s competitiveness. You never read about that in the blogs but I think every Aquarius is riled and revved by the idea of a rival or a target. It’s a week of competitive action so get your energy levels hyped and heightened. Know your goals. Understand your opposition or obstacles. Take good care of your energy and resources. And always play to win. Remain focused, stay resilient, flex and adapt to the changing game. But, yeah, play to win. Spoiler: you WILL win.

There is great power to be found, felt, and used in the concept of purpose. When you KNOW why you're doing what you're doing, you are instantly more persuasive, resilient and confident. Spend time, this week, thinking about the WHY in your realm. What matters, what drives you, what underpins your goals and priorities. And if there is a gap, then fill it. Find your story. Discover your motivations. Unveil your true nature and what it compels you to do. This homework will set you up for a glorious end to 2025. You have so much still to achieve that will bring you so much reward!
