In a surprising upset on Tuesday, Lauren Jauregui was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. And in true diva fashion, she did not hide her disappointment. In fact, Lauren’s reaction to her DWTS elimination might just be the most iconic and succinct that we’ve ever seen.
Asked by co-host Alfonso Ribeiro how she felt about going home, Lauren smiled and said, “Pissed.” And, honestly? Same.
To be fair, Lauren and her partner Brandon Armstrong did land in the bottom two of the leaderboard—tied with Andy Richter and Emma Slater—so it wasn’t a complete surprise. But it certainly wasn’t what the former Fifth Harmony member deserved, especially after she performed to her own song, “Work From Home.”
After the show, Lauren hopped onto her Instagram Stories to thank her fans for their support. “You already know your girl is a Cancer so I’ve been crying non-stop,” Lauren said, her eyes red. “But I just wanted to say thank you to everybody who voted and for all the beautiful messages that I’m seeing online. I love you guys.”
She continued, saying she wished she could have left on a higher note. “It is what it is, and I’m so grateful for the experience,” she concluded.
Lauren also opened up in a few post-show interviews, saying she stood by her one-word answer. “I mean, they asked me how I was feeling in the moment, and that’s how I was feeling in the moment,” she told TV Insider. “I'm just feeling emotional about the whole thing.”
Despite her low scores, Lauren had gotten encouraging feedback from the judges, and she added that she was eager to show the world what she could do. “I feel like I had a lot left to give the show, and I just wish that I would have had the opportunity to do that, especially because I was working with Brandon. We were going to keep progressing,” she said. “It’s sad not to be able to do that.”
