• Prince Harry and King Charles met over tea during Harry's visit to England—their first in-person interaction in 19 months.
  • Harry assured his father that he won't give interviews about what was said.
  • The Duke of Sussex was asked about the meeting, and simply said his dad was "great."

Prince Harry and King Charles met (for the first time in 19 months!!!!) yesterday, in the most British way possible: over a quick cup of tea. And apparently there was one major rule...Harry had to promise his dad that he wouldn't speak about their chat.

"This is an important first step towards rebuilding their father-and-son relationship," a source told the Daily Mail. "He has told his father he won't be giving any interviews about it and his team have been instructed not to brief journalists about what was said. There's a long way to go before Harry can earn his family's trust but he's given some assurances."

Harry, meanwhile, simply said his dad was "great" when asked about the meeting at an event.

As for Prince William, he appears to have no interest in reuniting with his younger brother, but was well aware of Harry's meeting with King Charles. "William would have known that this was going to happen. It's not clear how happy he is about it but, you know, sooner or later most families reach some sort of accommodation after a family rift," the source said.

FYI, Harry and Charles' royal tea took place at Clarance House (where Charles lives instead of Buckingham Palace) and lasted 55 minutes. Harry arrived at 5:20 and was seen driving out again at 6:14. Buckingham Palace kept it simple in their briefing of the meeting, saying only that His Majesty had a "private tea at Clarence House with the Duke of Sussex."
