Who knew a wholesome homemaking network like HGTV could bring such messy drama? And, no, we’re not talking about the remnants of a house flipping—we’re talking about Christina Haack and Josh Hall’s public feud amid their divorce. A year after announcing their split in July 2024, Josh and Christina’s divorce has at last been finalized, and while Christina has publicly opened up about their struggles, Josh has remained silent...until now.
In a bombshell interview published by The Daily Mail on September 3, the former HGTV star slammed his ex for publicizing their marital issues, saying he’d kept quiet up throughout their divorce proceedings to avoid a “public feud.” As he told the outlet, “I was trying to be respectful of her children and both of our families, and I didn’t have the need for public opinion. I don’t need to impress people. I don’t need them to know my personal business.”
As for how he feels about Christina sharing her side of things with the media? “I thought it lacked class, to be honest,” Josh continued. “Divorce isn’t something for public consumption. I understand that we’re public figures—I married one—but I thought it was unnecessary.”
He claimed her behavior was “immature,” adding, “Let’s share some stuff, but the behaving like a pissed off teenager on social media is just not something I’m going to do.”
For instance: Christina reportedly claimed that Josh requested spousal support payments of $65,000 a month, per Page Six. However, the Nashville-based realtor denied the allegation during his conversation with The Daily Mail.
“She definitely made more money than me,” he shared. “I contributed what I had. I added wherever I could, and I paid whatever share I was able to throughout the relationship.”
Per court documents obtained by the outlet, Christina paid Josh $300,000 to divide assets, plus $40,000 in attorney’s fees, mediation costs, and an additional $100,000 last year. Both of them reportedly waived spousal support, and Josh claimed he gave up temporary support and extra claims to avoid confrontation and keep the split fair.
As for the settlement, Christina kept a multi-million-dollar Nashville while Josh walked away with two Nashville properties, a California property, several vehicles, and an $100,000 payout without reimbursement.
