- Jen Affleck is set to perform on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday, Oct. 14, despite having to miss rehearsals due to illness.
- Zac Affleck, Jen’s husband, reached out to fans on social media asking for “prayers” and messages of support.
- Jen is set to perform a dance dedicated to her mother.
The Dancing with the Stars cast has been rehearsing all week for Dedication Night in the ballroom. Well, most of the DWTS cast. According to her husband, Jen Affleck has been too sick to rehearse this week.
As of now, Jen is still set to perform, but her husband, Zac Affleck, recently revealed that she’s been bedridden all week due to illness. “This week, she has been so sick, she hasn’t been able to practice and has been stuck in bed most of the week,” he wrote in a TikTok posted on Sunday. He also noted that Jen’s mother—who is set to dance with her daughter this week—has been helping nurse her back to health.
“Jen would never ask, but she really needs all the help and prayers she can get,” he continued. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives husband had one last request: That fans send messages of support for Jen so that he could decorate her DWTS trailer with them on show day.
Zac posted an update hours before the live show, thanking followers for their messages. “I know it’s gonna mean the world to Jen, and I can’t wait to show you guys a video of her reading some of these messages and seeing her trailer later today,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jen took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to assure fans that she was okay—and to confirm that she tested negative for COVID-19.
She also used her Stories to thank her partner Jan Ravnick for his patience, and she teased her dance on Instagram with a separate heartfelt post.
“It’s dedication night so I’m dedicating tonight to my mom and all the moms around the world,” she wrote in part. “It wasn’t until I became a mom that I realized what my mom did for me growing up and what mothers do every single day.”
She continued, “Moms often suffer in silence yet always show up without recognition. So tonight, I hope every mom gets the recognition she deserves.”
