Clown phobics, beware! We're getting a new chapter in the ongoing lore of Bill Skarsgård's Pennywise just in time for Halloween. It: Welcome to Derry, a new prequel series adaptation of Stephen King's novel It, is coming to HBO in October. Excuse my rhymes, but here's what you need to know about how to keep up with this show.

The premiere will take us to Derry, Maine in 1962. It follows a new family acclimating to the town while bad things start happening around them. As you may know if you're familiar with the story of It, the small town gets visited by a child-snatching clown called Pennywise every 27-ish years. You don't really need to have seen the movies in this series to understand the show. However, since they divert a bit from the book timeline, readers may want to know that It took place in 1988-9 and It Chapter Two flashed forward to 2016. Check my math, but 1962 is exactly when the preceding Pennywise incident would take place.

When does It: Welcome to Derry premiere?

The first episode of It: Welcome to Derry debuts on Sunday, October 26 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. It will also, as we have now come to expect, be available to stream on HBO Max at that time locally.

When does the next episode of It: Welcome to Derry drop?

HBO Sundays are so back! Subsequent episodes will air weekly at the same time. This will continue for eight weeks until the finale on December 14, 2015. It's a true Nightmare Before Christmas scenario, gently ushering us from spooky season to the holiday season.
