- Grey’s Anatomy is returning for season 22.
- The fate of several beloved characters will finally be revealed.
- Link’s future on the show could be in trouble based on this one very telling clue.
Who will survive? That’s the burning question viewers were left asking in the Grey’s Anatomy season 21 finale, which ended with a bang — quite literally — when an explosion occurred in part of the hospital. And now, with the season 22 premiere finally on the horizon, we will finally be able to get some answers. Who was injured? Where is Link and why oh why isn’t he answering his phone? Were there any (gulp) casualties? All will be revealed in the upcoming season, but given this show’s long-running background in heartbreak, it feels all but guaranteed that not everyone will make it out of this thing alive.
Right now, Link’s fate poses the biggest concern. As the trailer indicates, Jo is unable to reach him on his cell, which is obviously not a great sign. However, given that the hospital is in the midst of a crisis, he could just be occupied and simply too busy helping others to answer his phone. That said, it is worth noting that Chris Carmack, who plays Link, spoke with Woman’s World back in June and admitted that even he’s unsure of his character’s fate. “We left Season 21 on a precarious note, especially for my character. I don’t know what I can share because I don’t know anything yet,” Carmack stated, before ominously adding, “Wait — now that I think about it, I haven’t gotten the call yet saying, ‘See ya in July.’”
Is he just messing with our heads or could this be a vital clue to Link’s fate? Viewers will just have to tune into season 22 to find out for sure one way or another. But when will that be? Here’s everything you need to know about Grey’s Anatomy season 22’s episode release schedule.
When does Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere?
The first episode of season 22 will kick off on Thursday, October 9 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. After that it will become available for streaming the very next day on Hulu, so depending on how eager you are to know whether or not there were any fatalities from the explosion, you’ve got some options on how to do so. But keep in mind — waiting until the next day could increase your risk of accidentally coming across spoilers, so scroll on social media at your own risk.
When will the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy drop?
Once the premiere episode drops, fans will have to wait until the following Thursday, October 16, for another episode to come out, which will then be made available to stream on Hulu starting, Friday, October 17. This pattern will continue for the duration of the 18-episode season. If you’re a fan of watching entire seasons in one fell swoop, you could always opt to wait until the season is over before starting your viewing process, but again, you then run the risk of spoilers so proceed with caution.
