I Sniffed Every Fragrance From Parfums de Marly—Here's My Official Ranking of the 9 Best Scents

Before you invest $400+ in a luxury perfume, here's everything you need to know.

By

Parfums de Marly is one of the most beloved brands on #PerfumeTok—and between its ethereal, long-lasting fragrances and Rococo-inspired bottles that look like they've been swiped from Marie Antoinette's vanity, there's no wonder why. The French luxury perfume house has earned quite the cult following since its 2009 debut—and Cosmo beauty editors are equally smitten. (In fact, we crowned the brand a Holy Grail Beauty Award winner in 2025.) But before you go dropping $400+ on a full bottle, I'm here to give you a rundown on which Parfums de Marly scents are actually worth the splurge.

The Best Parfums de Marly Perfumes of 2026

As a beauty editor and fragrance pro who has spent literal years wearing Parfums de Marly, it's safe to say that I have very strong opinions about the brand. That's why I tested every single fragrance in the brand's lineup, and I'm here with a definitive ranking of Parfums de Marly's absolute best scents. Plus, I've got answers to all of your burning questions—including which Delina perfume is superior, how long they *actually* last on your skin, and whether or not the latest launch, Athénaïs, deserves the hype. (Spoiler alert: it does.) And because we believe fragrance is genderless at Cosmo, I've also included a few picks from the men's line that are also worth a sniff.

One Cosmo editor says: "This iconic rose and lychee fragrance is the whole reason why Parfums de Marly went viral in the first place. And while the OG Delina and La Rosée are also lovely, Exclusif is the clear winner. It's the deepest and most complex of the three, thanks to the addition of smokey incense and tonka bean. This scent is also insanely long-lasting (I'm talking 15+ hours), with a powerful sillage that gets me attention every single time I wear it. Trust me: it's worth the splurge."—LAUREN GRUBER, COMMERCE EDITOR

Parfums de Marly Valaya Eau de Parfum

Valaya Eau de Parfum

One Cosmo editor says: "When I first smelled Valaya back in 2023, I knew it was something special. Three years later, it's one of the most-used (and complimented!) scents in my collection. It starts off bright and citrus-y with bergamot and peach, and the aldehydes give it a sparkly quality. As it settles, it gets cozier and muskier, like sticking your nose in a pile of clean sheets still warm from the dryer. Normally, fresh scents like this one fade quickly, but I can still smell Valaya on my skin after eight hours. It's elegant, uplifting, and a beast mode performer—what more could you ask for?"–LG

One Cosmo editor says: "This scent is seriously addictive; its initial top notes of yuzu, neroli, and orange are bright and playful, as if you slipped straight into a beachside Aperol spritz. As it dries down, it becomes even more alluring, thanks to your-skin-but-better notes like tonka bean and ambrox. The result? An all-day signature scent that’s floral and fruity and undeniably sexy."—SAMANTHA JONES, SENIOR COMMERCE EDITOR

Parfums De Marly Oriana Eau de Parfum

Oriana Eau de Parfum

One Cosmo editor says: "I'm a sucker for sweet, marshmallowy scents, and this one is my favorite alongside Kilian Paris' Love, Don't be Shy. It has a nice balance of floral and fruity notes, and boy do they last. This is one of those perfumes that still lingers on your clothes the next day."—SARAH MABERRY, COMMERCE EDITOR

One Cosmo editor says: "This scent is technically from the men's line, but it's too gorgeous not to include. Althaïr is one of the most unique vanilla scents in my collection, with a blend of orange blossom, cinnamon, and ambery woods that lasts upwards of 12 hours on my skin. Once it dries down, it has an airy yet sweet presence that reminds me of cream soda in the best way. Its warm-spicy scent profile shines in cold weather, but it's not too heavy for spring and summer nights."—LG

One Cosmo editor says: "To me, the best perfumes are ones that make you feel something, and Meliora makes me so nostalgic that I almost want to cry. Every time I catch a whiff of this raspberry, lily of the valley, and jasmine tea scent, I'm transported to the front yard of my childhood home helping my mom plant flowers. Its fresh, fruity-floral scent profile also reminds me of a fancy shampoo, so it's perfect for anyone who prefers a lighter fragrance."—LG

One Cosmo editor says: "Whenever I want to smell like sexy in a powerful, grown-ass-woman way, I reach for Safanad. Its combination of honeyed pear, orange blossom, jasmine, and amber smells like sultry summer evenings and dancing until sunrise at a beach club. In my opinion, it's the most underrated scent in the entire PDM lineup."—LG

One Cosmo editor says: "Herod is easily the sexiest perfume I've ever smelled. I actually own a bottle to give to an eventual partner because it's my dream to snuggle up to someone wearing this. In the meantime, I spritz it on my clothes when I wanna smell yummy and seductive. It's gourmand but not sugary at all, especially thanks to all the spicy notes."—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

One Cosmo editor says: "I don’t typically go for floral-focused scents, but this one is different. It’s sweet and fruity, with a lactonic (aka creamy and velvety) quality to the vanilla notes and powdery-ness. Compared to other PDM perfumes, it's less rose-forward than Delina, but it’s more floral and less marshmalllow-y sweet than Oriana."—SM

How to choose the best Parfums de Marly perfume for you:

line break

Consider your scent preferences

On the whole, Parfums de Marly's line of women's perfumes lean floral, musky, and fruity. If you're partial to woodier scent profiles, I'd recommend checking out some fragrances from the men's line: Althaïr (a spicy vanilla) and Herod (a sultry tobacco) are editor favorites.

What's more, Parfums de Marly fragrances tend to be stronger and more long-lasting than your average perfume. (We'd hope so, with that price tag!) For a maximum-impact fragrance that lasts all day, opt for one of the brand's Exclusif blends, like Delina or Valaya. But if you get overwhelmed by powerful fragrances, a softer scent like Meliora or Cassili might be more your speed.

(Bottle) size matters

Here's the deal: most of PDM's women's scents come in a 2.5-ounce bottle ($410), but its most popular fragrances like Delina and Valaya also come in a 1-ounce bottle ($250). Plus, Exlusif scents are slightly pricier at $265 and $430, respectively. On the other hand, the men's line gets you more bang for your buck at $290 for 2.5 ounces, and $400 for 4.2 ounces—the pink tax is real!

My two cents? For the average shopper, the larger size is the best value—you're paying less per ounce and the bottle is more display-worthy. But if you're someone with a large perfume collection who likes to switch up your scent every day, a small bottle should still last years.
