Found: The 14 Best Face Mists for Dewy, Hydrating Skin, According to Beauty Editors

Including glowy formulas from Rhode, The Inkey List, and more.

By

We’re officially in our beauty nostalgia era. Flavored lip glosses are having a moment, sheet masks are everywhere, and face mists—my personal favorite throwback beauty trend—are so back. Honestly, with the amount of face mists everywhere right now, you’d think you’d time-traveled straight to 2010. You can’t open the Sephora app or scroll on TikTok without seeing a new face mist launch. Even beauty queen Hailey Bieber launched one from Rhode for her coveted glass skin (our full thoughts on it below).

And these face mists of 2025 aren’t the rosewater spritzes we paired with concealer lips and stashed in our lockers in middle school. Today’s face mists are legit skincare steps—they hydrate, calm breakouts, boost glow, and some even moonlight as setting sprays. Here are some of our favorites for top-tier results.

The 14 best face mists of 2025

Ahead, the best face mists for glassy and hydrated skin, all spritzed, tested, and loved by Cosmo’s beauty team.

“I mean, are we even surprised that the queen of glazed skin herself, Mrs. Hailey Bieber, is blessing us with a face mist designed to deliver that coveted drenched finish? Packed with ectoin (it forms a second-skin-like barrier of moisture on the face), ceramides, and beta-glucan (a water-binding mushroom extract), this formula is a dewy dream. Bonus: It’s earned a seal from the National Eczema Association, making it a safe bet for even the most sensitive skin types.” —BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

"Ultra Violette is my (along with almost every other beauty editor out there) favorite sunscreen brand for its innovative and protective formulas, and they just added this SPF 50 mist to their arsenal. It sprays out a super fine mist, which I love for a mess-free application. You can even use it atop your makeup without smudging or smearing anything. It's also filled with soothing niacinamide and aloe, so your skin is being nourished while it's being protected from the harshest of rays."—JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

Best Face Mist for Redness

Cocokind Magnesium Calming Mist

Magnesium Calming Mist

"This works wonders on my reactive, acne-prone skin. It's got magnesium to soothe and calm inflammation, plus an amino acid that helps clarify the skin to heal acne breakouts. No matter how or when I use it—after cleansing, post-workout, or to refresh my skin during the day—it has an immediate calming and redness-reducing effect." —LAUREN BALSAMO, BEAUTY DIRECTOR

“I got my makeup done before a NYFW show with Peach and Lily last fall (humblebrag)—but the kicker is that they used practically no makeup and instead relied on skincare to make me glowy. My biggest product takeaway was how freaking good this face mist is for glass-ifying my face. I spritz it on before foundation to help the product blend, after powder to hydrate, and anytime throughout the day I want to look like a dewy lil angel.” —BG

“This face mist is honestly really basic—the only thing in it is water—but the water isn’t any old water. It’s Avène Thermal Spring Water, sourced straight from the South of France, which is said to have soothing and calming properties thanks to its mineral content. I use it before my hydrating serums; I’ve found that when my skin is a little bit damp, they work even better. And the sprayer is perfect. Just the right amount of mist comes out without being drippy or messy.” —LB

“FWIW, I’d trust Sofie Pavitt—aka NYC’s acne whisperer—with my life. This acne-friendly mist is packed with soothing niacinamide and panthenol to calm redness and nourish the skin plus a ton of hydration to leave you feeling and looking dewy. (Okay, I’m not even at the best part yet.) It’s also formulated with a signature cooling compound that creates a subtly tingly sensation when you spray it on for a mini cryo effect—just make sure to close your eyes. This mist is perfect for anyone who wants a refreshing, skin-loving boost, especially during the sweaty summer months.” —JH

"When I saw that Summer Fridays' Jet Lag Mask was being turned into a face mist, I knew it would be a savior for dry skin types. It's pretty much loaded with every hydrating and moisturizing ingredient under the sun: hyaluronic acid, squalane, ceramides, you name it. The fine mist is super easy to apply (I love the OG Jet Lag Mask but I can't just throw it on in the middle of the day, ya know?) and leaves behind a radiant finish and makes my skin feel super soft and hydrated."—JH

“After a scorching hot Pilates class, I sprayed this on and it instantly calmed my post-workout redness. It’s packed with ceramides to lock in moisture with just a few spritzes, and since it’s from K-beauty brand AESTURA (a sensitive-skin fave), it’s gentle yet effective on my face. It’s also amazing for full-body use—especially in the summer when your skin’s dealing with sun, chlorine, salt, and whatever else the warm months may throw your way. "I love The Inkey List for their no-frills, affordable skincare steps, and their hydrating face mist is another amazing addition to their product lineup. When I need a mid-day refresh or feel like my serums didn’t give me quite enough hydration, a quick spritz of this visibly plumps and gives my skin a glowy finish—I can literally feel it soak in. Plus, it costs $13, and is free of pore-cloggers."—JH

“I’ve been spritzing hypochlorous acid on my face since the ingredient first went viral a few years ago (it’s fantastic for soothing my acne-prone skin). I love this hypochlorous acid mist in particular since it doesn’t include any other actives—just hypochlorous acid, water, and sodium chloride, which makes it as effective as possible for killing bacteria and calming skin. I’ve been keeping mine in my gym bag to spray before and after workouts, especially hot yoga classes where I sweat buckets.” —BG

“When I first tested this a few years ago, I spritzed my entire face after a very hot sauna session. Immediately, it calmed my beet-red face with a mix of botanical extracts. But it also helps hydrate with hyaluronic acid and glycerin. Do you necessarily need a $70 face mist? Maybe not. But if you want to splurge on a spray for a spa-esque feeling, this is the one.” —BG

Best Face Mist Toner

Joanna Czech The Toner

The Toner

“I find a lot of toners annoying because you either have to press them into skin with your hands (too messy) or find cotton rounds to apply them (extra annoying step), but this spray-on version from Joanna Czech is so easy to use and my skin loves it too. It’s nice and hydrating without being tacky.” —LB

Best Plumping Face Mist

Kosas Plump Collagen Spray

Plump Collagen Spray

“This spray is the definition of juicy skin. It’s my secret weapon post–skincare routine—I mist it on after all my products and LED mask session, and it leaves my face looking plump and feeling so refreshed. Just one or two spritzes are enough to cover my whole face, and I never have to worry about drying out midday. And if I do? I have the mini travel size so I can stash it in my bag wherever.” —JH

“This multitasking spray from Caudalíe doesn’t just refresh and brighten your skin with plant extracts like grape, rosemary, and citrus—it also doubles as the perfect primer and setting spray. I reach for it on days when I am keeping my makeup light with a skin tint and blush but still want my skin to feel nourished—not coated in something with an overly chemical-y scent or feel.” —JH
