And, let's be honest, it's kinda starting to seem like there should definitely be a much higher barrier to buying recording equipment. (What's that, Kevin? Another hour-long podcast of you and your friends' stream-of-consciousness thoughts giving us absolutely nothing? Why yes, that's exactly what we needed!)
Seriously, there are so many podcasts out there now it's hard to know which ones are worth listening to, let alone keep up with all the episodes. So to spare you the pain of having to sift through them all to find the gems, we've rounded up the best of the best podcasts that you need to listen to in 2025. From true crime stories you can't turn off to podcasts that feel like you were just hanging out with your two besties, there's a little something for everyone out there. 'Scamfluencers'
I always recommend this podcast to anyone who's even remotely into true crime—it's about scammers so it's a little lighter than your typical murder show, although sometimes there is a little overlap. Every week hosts Scaachi Koul and Sarah Hagi cover a different scammer, perhaps ones you know like real housewife Jen Shah or former congressman George Santos, or ones you maybe don't like a shady national ballet school or a maple-syrup-stealing ring in Quebec. Every episode is well-researched and the hosts are so fun to listen to, telling you the full story of how each scammer came to become, well, a scammer.
'Giggly Squad'
If you haven't heard of Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner by now, are you even alive? The two besties met while cast members on Summer House but have since taken their incredible dynamic and put it into podcast form. Every week they chit-chat about things like the craziness of bachelorette parties, getting trauma bangs, wanting a pet psychic, and theories about men with beards—there are several. If you're not giggling by the end, well then that's a lie and I'll see you in court (you'll get that later).
'Oversharing'
Dr. Naomi Bernstein is a licensed clinical therapist and Jordana Abraham is one of the co-founders of Betches and co-host of the dating and relationships podcast U Up? (another great listen, BTW), and they're sisters. Dr. Naomi has years of experience helping people through their problems and Jordana has heard just about every relationship question you can think of. Together they address listeners' problems from trying to maintain a relationship with a negative friend to dealing with jealous in-laws. The dynamic is like having a conversation with your cool therapist and insightful best friend, and you'll walk away from every episode feeling like you've got some new tool to help better manage relationships of all kinds.
'Pod Save the World'
America seems to be, shall we say, not making friends with the rest of the world right now, so it might be a great time to start learning more about what exactly is going with all of that. Hosted by former National Security Spokesman and Special Assistant to the President Tommy Vietor and former Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, they take foreign policy, which could easily be a boring and extremely complicated topic, and turn it into informative, easily digestible episodes. Every week they update you on what's going on with America's relationships in the world and lift the curtain on how policy decisions are made.
'The Spy Who'
Every kid loves pretending to be a spy, but as it turns out some people actually grow up and become one for real. Every four-episode season of The Spy Who tells a new story of a spy (or a group of spies) that carried out a particularly interesting mission, from the spy who infiltrated Auschwitz as a prisoner to Russian spies who were scattered throughout American suburbs to collect intel. They're scripted episodes with amazing narrators who will have you feeling like you're listening to a spy movie you don't want to turn off.
'Good Hang With Amy Poehler'
When a celebrity starts a new podcast, you never really know what you're going to get. But my, oh my is Amy Poehler's podcast ever good! She has a different guest on every week, like Tina Fey, Rashida Jones, and Jack Black, and her interviewing style is both thoughtful and fun. Each episode is like a little bottle filled with comedy and joy that you want to get the very last drop out of.
'Don't Cross Kat'
Kat Torres seemed like a typical aspiring model/Instagram influencer type—she even managed to get paparazzi'd next to Leonardo DiCaprio and had some dating rumors swirling. But behind the scenes, after having moved from Brazil to the U.S., Kat started bringing other Brazilian women to live in her home, offering to help them out. But it was not at all what they had hoped—they were being trafficked. The podcast is hosted by award-winning Brazilian investigative reporter Chico Felitti, who initially released a Brazilian version of the podcast which quickly became a hit.
'Long Winded'
In case you didn't know, the internet's girl crush Gabby Windey has her own podcast and let me tell ya, it's amazing. If you also love getting into the deets on a juicy story or listening to a rant from a no-filter best friend, this will be right up your alley. Gabby is so effortlessly funny that it doesn't matter whether she has a guest or is doing a solo episode, you'll love it from start to finish either way.
'Aftermath: Hunt for the Anthrax Killer'
All my fellow true crime junkies will love this one. Aftermath jumps back to 2001 and dives into the chilling post-9/11 anthrax attacks and the investigation that followed. It gets into how investigators tracked down a shadowy suspect using microscopic clues, and all of the missteps they took along the way. You’ll be hooked from the very first minute.
'Khloé in Wonder Land'
Let's face it, Khloé has always been the coolest of Kardashian clan, and her new podcast perfectly showcases her personality. In Khloé in Wonder Land, she chats with friends, family and experts about anything and everything—uncomfortable moments are welcome and nothing is off limits. Guests include dating expert Logan Ury, trainer Gunnar Peterson, and the hardest-working woman in Hollywood, Kris Jenner. 'Scam Factory'
You know those scammy texts that always seem to be blowing up your phone? Well, as it turns out, there very well could be a real person sending them and they're likely not doing so voluntarily. Scam Factory tells the story of how would-be scammers end up trapped in a warehouse in Myanmar, held at gunpoint, and forced to scam their way out.
