‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Cast: Here’s Where You Recognize the New Cast Members From
There's a bunch of new faces this time around
After what has felt like an eternity, The Last of Us is finally back on our screens for season 2, and this series is welcoming a whole host of new faces to the cast.
The second season picks up five years after Joel saved Ellie from the Fireflies and took her to safety at Tommy's commune. Since then the pair have survived and adjusted to town living, but it's not been without struggles of its own. Joel is seeing a therapist, Ellie has a big crush and there's always the threat of the infected to deal with. Oh, and there's a woman named Abby intent on killing Joel, slowly, can't forget that part.
The first episode was released last night and reintroduced us to our favorite characters, and as well as welcoming a bunch of new ones too. Recognize the newbies' faces? Here's all the details on the new cast and the previous roles you know them from.

Pedro Pascal as Joel
Who is Joel?: Joel is a survivor who, after looking after and saving Ellie in season 1, has settled down into life and is running the town's building work.
What else has Pedro Pascal been in?: Where do we start with Pedro? You could recognize him from his role of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones or perhaps you know him as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian? Pascal is also known for his roles in Narcos, Gladiator II, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Bella Ramsey as Ellie
Who is Ellie?: Ellie is a survivor who is immune to the infected and in season 1, she's now 19 and working to help protect the town in Jackson.
What else has Bella Ramsey been in?: Prior to The Last of Us, Bella was best known for their role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones. They've also had a lead role in the 2023 Chicken Run sequel, and the TV series The Worst Witch and His Dark Materials.
Gabriel Luna as Tommy
Who is Tommy?: Tommy is Joel's younger brother and runs the commune in Jackson with his wife Maria.
What else has Gabriel Luna been in?: Luna is best known for his role in TV series Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. He's also had roles in Matador, FUBAR and Terminator: Dark Fate.
Rutina Wesley as Maria
Who is Maria?: Maria is one of the co-leaders of the settlement in Jackson. She is also married to Tommy and they have one child together.
What else has Rutina Wesley been in?: Rutina is best known for her role in HBO's True Blood as Tara Thornton. She's also had roles in Queen Sugar, Hannibal, Arrow and The Walking Dead.
Isabela Merced as Dina
Who is Dina?: Dina is Ellie's best friend and later love interest. She is also Jesse's ex.
What else has Isabela Merced been in?: Isabela got her start on Nickelodeon in 100 Things to Do Before High School, before moving into blockbuster roles including Madame Web, Instant Family, Alien: Romulus and she'll soon be seen in the upcoming Superman film.
Kaitlyn Dever as Abby
Who is Abby?: Abby is from the Fireflies and has a vendetta against Joel.
What else has Kaitlyn Dever been in?: Most recently you'll recognise Kaitlyn from her role as the lead in Netflix's Apple Cider Vinegar. You'll also likely know her from roles in TV series such as Dopesick and Unbelievable, and in films such as Dear Evan Hansen, Booksmart, Ticket to Paradise and Good Grief.
Young Mazino as Jesse
Who is Jesse?: Jesse is part of the town and helps train Ellie, he's also Dina's ex.
What else has Young Mazino been in?: You'll most likely recognize Young Mazino for his role in the Netflix series Beef where he played Paul Cho. He's also been in the movie Opus and appeared in episodes of Blue Bloods, Prodigal Son and Tommy.
Catherine O'Hara as Gail
Who is Gail?: Gail is a therapist who is working with Joel. She was married to Eugene, who dies before season 2 begins.
What else has Catherine O'Hara been in?: O'Hara needs no introduction but we'll still give her one. The actress has been in the industry since the mid 1970s and you'll most likely know her for roles in Schitt's Creek, Beetlejuice, Home Alone, After Hours and many, many more iconic roles.
Spencer Lord as Owen
Who is Owen?: Owen is friends with Abby and is helping her in goal to destroy Joel.
What else has Spencer Lord been in?: Spencer had his first on screen role in 2017 in the short film Elusion, and since then he's had roles in series such as Riverdale, The Good Doctor, Family Law and Heartland.
Robert John Burke as Seth
Who is Seth?: Seth is a member of the town and runs a bar.
What else has Robert John Burke been in?: No your eyes are not deceiving you Gossip Girl fans, that is indeed the famous Bart Bass aka Chuck Bass' dad. As well as his Gossip Girl role, Robert is also known for his work in Law & Order: SVU, Tombstone, Thinner and RoboCop 3.
