Now keep scrolling for the full list, along with tips on how to choose a Dyson Airwrap dupe, depending on your hair type and style preferences.

Airwrap i.d. Multi-Styler and Dryer
Now 23% Off

Pros

  • Uses warm air to help reduce heat damage while styling
  • Can be used to dry, straighten, curl, and wave hair with attachments
  • Cosmo Holy Grail Beauty Award winner

Before I go through all the best Airwrap dupes, let me first break down the original Dyson tool that forever changed the haircare game and continues to go in and out of stock constantly. The Dyson Airwrap utilizes strong airflow and minimal heat to dry and style your hair at the same time, with the option of six attachments: a smoothing dryer head, a firm brush, a soft brush, a round brush, and two different-sized curling barrels.

Hairstylists, celebrities, and editors (hi, most of Cosmo’s beauty team) are all obsessed with the Airwrap for giving their hair major volume without as much damage as a curling iron, hair straightener, or the hair dryer-and-round brush combo that requires high heat and a lot of coordination.

It's won countless Cosmo awards, including most recently best haircare splurge in our 2025 Holy Grail Beauty Awards.

One Cosmo editor says: "While it’s pricey, the Airwrap is definitely deserving of the hype because it makes blowing my hair out so freaking easy. I don’t need to maneuver a round brush and get arm cramps, or have salon-level skills. I love all the new and improved attachments (you don’t need to switch the barrels out for different sides anymore), and the new connection to the Dyson app is super cool if you get the new i.d. version. You can pre-program how long you want certain temperature or speed settings on for, so you don’t need to fiddle with the buttons during every pass.” —JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

    Best Dyson Airwrap Dupe Overall

T3 Aire 360 Ceramic Air Styler Blowout Kit

Aire 360 Ceramic Air Styler Blowout Kit
    Now 29% Off

    Pros

    • Definitely the most luxe Airwrap dupe we’ve tested
    • I love how shiny and smooth my hair looks after using
    • Great for fine and thick hair, per testing

    Cons

    • I wish it had a cool shot to set my curls :(

Basically every beauty editor in my feed has been sharing nonstop selfies of their voluminous, fluffy waves, all courtesy of the T3 Air Styler. And after using it on my hair for a week straight, I can confirm that it’s worthy of all the praise and clocks in as the best Dyson Airwrap dupe I’ve ever tried.

It seriously rivals the O.G. Airwrap in its results, especially in the volume department. I especially love how my hair looks when I curl with this, since the ceramic coating on the barrel evenly distributes heat for long-lasting curls (that are also seriously shiny, might I add). "I’m terrible at maneuvering a round brush and blow dryer at the same time, which is why I’m obsessed with T3’s Aire 360," says Cosmo's beauty director Lauren Balsamo. "It makes DIYing a bouncy blowout super easy, no matter your skill set."

t3 aire air styler before and after

One Cosmo editor says: "As someone with 3a curls, I usually find that air stylers take forever—I have to blow out my roots first just to get any kind of smoothness. But when I tested this one from T3, I noticed it took way less time to zhuzh up my hair on day two or three (and yes, even day four or five, IYKYK) compared to using a traditional curling iron. I also loved that the T3 Aire comes with both curling and blow-drying attachments, so you don’t have to drop another paycheck on a separate blow-dryer brush or waste half your suitcase to pack multiple tools.

The before and after pics you see here were taken literally five minutes apart. While I don’t think air stylers can replace hot tools for everything, they can significantly speed up your hair routine once you master your technique.”—SARAH MABERRY, FASHION AND LUXURY COMMERCE EDITOR

Glam Ceramic & Powerful Air Styling & Drying System

    Pros

    • Design is intuitive and easy to use
    • Wet-styling mode is a game-changer
    • We're obsessed with all the different attachments

    Cons

    • The plug is very large which isn't ideal for storage
    • The highest temperature is VERY hot (almost *too* hot)

The Shark Glam is easily one of the best hair tool launches of 2025. We tested it across three editors with different hair textures and really loved that it works for everyone–curls, short lengths, thick and coarse hair, you name it. Part of this is because of all the different attachments (and there are two versions—one for straight/wavy hair that includes a concentrator nozzle, another for curly/coily hair with a diffuser). It's got six attachments that do everything you could ever wanna do with your hair: straighten, curl, smooth, dry, blow out, etc. Plus, there's a wet and dry styling mode to help you style no matter what state your hair's in.

To make it smart and nicer on your hair, Shark implemented "Heat Sense Technology" to monitor and regulate the heat the tool emits so that it never exceeds 302 degrees Fahrenheit. This can help cut down on damage without disrupting the results, even for those with coarse hair types.

One Cosmo editor says: "While all the attachments are incredibly clutch, my daily use for the Shark Glam is pretty much limited to the diffuser. The new diffuser attachment is pretty much identical to the original one and features two lengths to reach the roots and ends of my hair. After throwing on a deep conditioner, curl cream, and flexible hold hairspray, I switch between both while using the highest air pressure and temperature settings. I was most excited to try the new wet hair setting on the Shark Glam, and it made all the difference. Honestly, I’m not sure if the air pressure and heat settings are readjusted on the wet versus dry settings, but it’s magical either way. With my old styler (and after a few years of losing its juice), I’d finish styling my hair in 10 to 15 minutes. With the new one, it only took me eight. And as someone who would rather not spend so much time on my hair, I’m obsessed with that."—SAM OLSON, ASSISTANT NEWS EDITOR

    Best Dyson Airwrap Dupe Deal

    FlexStyle
    Now 29% Off

    Pros

    • Creates curls and waves similar to the Dyson Airwrap
    • Really lightweight for travel

    Cons

    • Only has one size curling barrel that you need to swap for each side of head

Shark is next-level when it comes to beauty tools—we're obsessed with everything from their blow dryers to the Cryo LED mask. And we must admit, the FlexStyle is very similar to the Dyson Airwrap in terms of both attachments and results. Best of all: You can snag the original iteration right now for $150 off.

The biggest difference we noticed between the Flexstyle and the Airwrap was in the size and length of the attachments, specifically the round brushes and curling wands. "Ever since I cut my hair into a short lil French bob, I've been infatuated with my Shark FlexStyle, specifically the curling attachments," says beauty editor Beth Gillette. "They're on the smaller side, compared to other similar tools I've tried—this gives me a tighter curl, which majorly helps with the longevity of my style."

Associate shopping editor Meg Uy loved the oval brush for her long, thick hair since it wasn't too big that it made it difficult to maneuver. "Overall, in just 11 minutes, my hair was transformed into a voluminous and soft blowout with soft curls at the ends," she says.

    Pros

    • Works at 110v, which is great for international travel

    Cons

    • A few testers said the attachments can be a bit wobbly

If you just so happen to have a very special event going on, idk, tomorrow, and need a new tool to do your hair, this will get to your house right on time with Amazon Prime. Just like the Dyson Airwrap, it comes with a slew of attachments that give you flexible styling options (curling, straightening, smoothing, drying, volumizing—you name it).

Unlike the Airwrap, though, this one will actually work on your Euro summer vacations, since it has a 110 voltage. So if you do already have a Dyson, or a Shark, or any other similar styling tool that you love that won't work abroad but you can't live without while traveling, tons of reviewers swear by this tool as an alternative to stash in your suitcase.

One Cosmo reader says: "I am pretty basic when it comes to styling my hair. As a mom and a nurse, I tend to shower, brush my hair, and throw it in a clip. But finally, at the age of 40, I have the option to beautifully style my hair within minutes with this tool. There is no learning curve, and it’s extremely easy to use. I’ve made some pretty stupid purchases throughout the years, and I can honestly say that this is one of the top 10 best purchases of mine."

Wavytalk 5 in 1 Curling Iron

      5 in 1 Curling Iron
      Now 38% Off

      Pros

      • Has five attachments that each give a different type of curl
      • Curls last a long time, even on my fine hair

      Cons

      • Hot iron, so it can cause more breakage than an air-based tool

If you like the curly look of the Airwrap but want your style to last a bit longer, then you probably should look into a curling iron. And this set that includes five attachments from Wavytalk is basically the best option. It gives you five different styles (whether you want big waves from the 1.25" curling iron or beachy waves from the flat iron or a blowout from the round brush), all with the same tool, but because it uses heat versus air, the look lasts a whole lot longer.

One Cosmo editor says: "I have extremely fine hair, so legit curls never last. I could spritz the strongest hold hairspray and nothin'. But when I use this specific curling iron—any of the attachments, actually—I notice that my waves last a bit longer than normal, even if I don't use any styling products."—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

Best Dyson Airwrap Dupe for Fast Styling

BondiBoost Everlast Airstyler Ceramic Blow Dryer Brush

Everlast Airstyler Ceramic Blow Dryer Brush

        Pros

        • Styles hair extremely quickly
        • Gives *lots* of volume

        Cons

        • Have to finesse to get your curls to last

Of all the Dyson Airwrap dupes I've tested, this one gave me the quickest, most voluminous look of all (see the pic below for proof). I started by drying my roots with the blow-dryer attachment, then gave 'em some lift with the round brush. I loved that it didn't tug at my hair, but still created enough tension to give me some serious va-va-volume. I followed that with the curling attachment to create waves throughout my hair, which not only were bouncy and voluminous but smooth and silky too. Every time I use this tool, I'm so obsessed with how my hair looks.

One caveat is that, based on my testing (and senior entertainment editor Emma Baty's), you've gotta put some work in to get these curls to hold their shape for longer than an hour or so. I always scrunch in some mousse to give my hair some lift and hold before using the tool. I also make sure to hold the barrel on my hair for 10 to 15 seconds, then hit it with the cold shot for 10 seconds to set them in place.

One Cosmo editor says: "I love that the Bondi gives me four different ways to blow dry my hair on top of the two curling attachments. It replaced about three other tools I had sitting in my drawer. The smallest blow-dry brush attachment, for example, gives me really nice volume at my ends. And the curling attachments did give me beautiful, Kate Middleton-esque curls. However, try as I might, I could not get the curls to hold. I tried everything: mousse, hairspray, holding the curls in place while they cooled. So while the immediate results were amazing, they just didn't last for me." — EMMA BATY, SENIOR ENTERTAINMENT EDITOR

Best Dyson Airwrap Dupe for Fine Hair

Ella Bella 6-in-1 Professional Hot Air Styler

        6-in-1 Professional Hot Air Styler

        Pros

        • Includes two round brush sizes, which is great for bangs, short hair, and fine textures
        • Comes with a v-cute, convenient case

        Cons

        • Can't take off the attachments easily while using (which I love doing to use the round brush as a hot roller with the O.G. Airwrap)

Whenever anyone asks me how I like the Dyson Airwrap for my fine, short hair, I always say that it's got the smallest round brush barrel, which is great for giving me major volume and styling my bangs. No other device offered up the same thing...until I tested this style from Ella Bella. It comes with two round brush sizes, but I'm especially smitten with the smaller one. It perfectly styles my bangs into lil swoops while volumizing at the roots. The brushes also super gentle and don't tug at my hair, which cuts down on potential damage for my already-fragile strands. I do have to hold my hair on the curling barrels for about 15 seconds to get them to hold as long as the Airwrap, but I don't mind, because the 1.6-inch barrels create an ideal wave.

One Cosmo editor says: "This styler has quickly become one of my go-tos, especially when I want to create lots of volume in my hair. The round brush creates my dream bangs (truly, if I could freeze the bangs in this photo, I would). I'll just brush underneath toward my forward in both directions to help avoid any cowlicks in my hairline, then brush forward and hold in place for 20 to 30 seconds before turning on the cold air for 10 seconds."—BG

Amika Blowout Babe Thermal Round Brush

          Blowout Babe Thermal Round Brush

          Pros

          • Ion technology keeps hair shiny
          • Super lightweight and easy to travel with

          Cons

          • Can only use on dry hair

If the whole point of the Dyson Airwrap that appeals to you is a voluminous blowout (or Sabrina Carpenter-esque bangs), maybe all you need is a thermal brush. It’s essentially a curling iron in the form of a round brush—think the kind of tool your stylist uses for that bouncy finish (that's nearly impossible to replicate) or like the Airwrap's round brush attachment. Except this one is much more affordable and doesn't requite salon-level skills.

The device uses ion technology to help smooth frizz and boost shine. It heats up quickly and styles in minutes, helping add movement and volume to your hair with one motion and minimal effort. At less than a fifth of the price of the Airwrap, it’s a solid alternative that genuinely works to give a blowout-esque finish. You can read our full review of the Amika Thermal Round Brush right here.

One Cosmo editor says: "I love the Amika Thermal brush on the days where my hair is dry but in its natural wavy form, and I don't feel like assembling the all the attachments on my Airwrap. This tool smooths over any waves and creates the perfect loose and bouncy curl. It takes me less than 10 minutes to do my entire head (and I have v thick hair, and a lot of it might I add)."—JH

            Style|Switch Multi-Styler

            Pros

            • Comes with a diffuser attachment
            • Lightweight

            Cons

            • Doesn't have barrel attachment for curls

Okay, this styler has the blow drying powers and brush attachments akin to the Dyson Airwrap, and the straightening feature similar to the Dyson Airstraight—does it get any better? Apparently, yes. Because this device also comes with a diffuser, too. BaByliss seriously thought of everything.

The only thing that's missing is the barrel attachments, but if you like a voluminous blowout, embracing your hair's natural waves, or a pin-straight finish, you can achieve any of those looks with this single device.

One shopper says: "Honestly? I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do. The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium StyleSwitch is lightweight, easy to handle, and actually makes styling feel less like a chore. All the attachments snap on without a fight, and the brush one gives my hair that smooth, bouncy look without frying it. I’ve used it on both damp and dry hair, and it works great either way. Pricey? Yeah. Worth it? Absolutely."

              Pros

              • Has six temperature settings
              • Often on sale

              Cons

              • We wish the head itself was wider

Whenever someone asks for a hair straightener rec or wants the silky results of the Dyson Airwrap (or Airstrait), I point them to this heated brush from Wavytalk. You simply brush your hair through the device—you don't even need to comb or separate your strands beforehand, the device's teeth do that for you—and it smooths and straightens the hair in seconds.

It even has that ion technology we know and love to keep our hair looking as sleek as possible. With six temperature settings and a $40 price tag, it's hard to beat this Amazon-favorite straightener.

One Cosmo editor says: "I have both the Dyson Airwrap and the Dyson Airstrait, so I know a thing or two about which heat tools will actually replicate the real deal. And lemme tell you, this affordable straightener comb is actually worth it. I haven't used a traditional flat iron in years because this one is just as good, plus it combs my hair while styling it."—JH

                Blow Dryer with Four Attachments
                Credit: Pattern

                Pros

                • Four attachments for drying, diffusing, defining, and stretching 4c hair
                • Testers like how lightweight it is

                Cons

                • Not super fast at drying, according to some reviewers

When it comes to using the Airwrap paddle brush for stretching your hair, some users find the teeth on the attachment too firm and harsh. So if you’re working with curly hair and prefer something a bit gentler, try Pattern’s blow dryer, whose brush attachment uses flexible nylon bristles for detangling, but adds just enough tension to stretch and fluff your hair. The dryer also comes with three other attachments (a diffuser, a concentrator nozzle, and a wide-tooth comb) for detangling, drying, and defining curls.

One Cosmo editor says: “I didn’t think it was possible to design a dryer specifically for textured hair, but Tracee Ellis Ross totally did it. The unique attachments are a curly girl’s dream.”—JULEE WILSON, BEAUTY EDITOR-AT-LARGE

                  Reserve 3-in-1 Interchangeable Blow-Dryer

                  Pros

                  • Testers love how versatile it is to blow dry, smooth, and volumize

                  Cons

                  • Doesn't get hot enough for some reviewers

This three-in-one tool includes a round-brush attachment and a paddle-brush attachment that are excellent at smoothing thick hair without tugging (unlike the Airwrap brushes, according to some testers), thanks to their mix of plastic and nylon bristles. So, if you want a Rachel Green-style blowout on your thick hair, start with the round-brush attachment at your roots and slowly pull it down through your hair, flipping in the ends slightly by angling the tool. Or you can get a super-sleek look by running the paddle brush through your hair, section by section, followed by a smoothing cream for some hold and shine. Even better? It also comes with a blow-dryer attachment, making this a genius invention to travel with.

One shopper says: “The blow-dry end is my favorite by far—I have really thick, curly hair, and this tool dried my hair soooo quickly. The roundbrush reminded me a lot of the Drybar double shot, but it had more temperature settings that allowed for more control! I also like that the paddle brush did not make my hair look stick-like on the ends and still gave a smooth finish!"

Best Curling Iron for Airwrap-Like Waves

The Beachwaver Co. 1.25 Curling Iron

                    On Sale
                    1.25 Curling Iron

                    Pros

                    • Automatic twirling barrel helps create uniform curls

                    Cons

                    • Can take a sec to figure out (but gets easier as you go)

Fun fact: I gifted this iron to my mom after she fell in love with using the Dyson Airwrap to create super-fast curls. No, it doesn’t use the same technology as the Dyson—the Airwrap uses air, while the Beachwaver uses direct heat—but it does have an automated curling barrel that twirls your hair around with the press of a button to create glossy, long-lasting curls (FWIW, it was actually launched in 2011—a whopping seven years before the Airwrap—and has eight patents, so the device is def not a dupe by any means, but the overall ~essence~ of the curls it creates is v similar).

I got my mom the 1-inch iron because she likes those classic beachy waves, but if you’re looking for an exact Airwrap dupe, go for the 1.25-inch iron (shown here) for bigger, fluffier curls.

One Cosmo editor says: "While many use the Beachwaver to get their Utah curls—call me millennial, but I love the look of soft, beach waves á la my fave Mormon Wives—if I pick up larger sections, I get smooth, blowout-esque waves that resemble that of my Airwrap. The automatic twirling mechanism helps me get the same curl each time, just like Dyson."—BG

That said, when you’re choosing a dupe, focus on your hair type and what your hair needs. Is it tension to stretch out your coily hair? Look for a tool with a flexible-bristle brush attachment. Or maybe your fine hair needs more heat to hold a curl, in which case you might want to try a curling iron. Thick hair? You might need a blow-dry brush with a combo of plastic and natural bristles that’ll straighten and curl your hair without tugging.

                      Assess your styling goals.

The best Dyson Airwrap dupe really comes down to what you plan to use the tool for. If you’re trying to get those TikTok-famous Airwrap curls, you might prefer to just try a 1.25-inch barrel curling iron for a more bouncy curl. But if you like how sleek and straight someone gets their hair with an Airwrap, try a heated straightening brush or a blow-dry brush. And if you really just want a tool that does it all, grab one of the multi-use options above and finally clear out your stash of unused irons.
