1'The Pitt' (Season 1 - HBO Max)
In a year that feels like we’ve been surrounded by drama, it seems surprising to see how many people tuned in week after week to see, well, more of it on their TVs. Instead of the escapism that we all probably long for, The Pitt took us to the heart of it all and pulled us toward a kind of chaos that only the bravest few would ever experience, diving deep into the good and bad of humanity and not flinching at the harsh realities of it all. It’s that truth and heart-fullness that allowed it to become one of the biggest successes this year, going from surprise breakout to beloved hit. And if this is just one day in the lives of these characters, then we can only hold our breaths in anticipation to see what is next as we await the show’s second season. With brilliant, truthful writing and powerful performances that make you grateful for the big return of Noah Wylie, it is no surprise to see that a show that reaches into the depths of humankind—both figuratively and physically—came out on top this year.

2'Heated Rivalry' (Season 1 - HBO Max)
It's the show has become a total phenomenon. Fans were begging for anyone to come and pick it up in the US and thankfully HBO Max answered our prayers. Now we have the ultimate hot and sexy love story between two hockey players that finally brings yearning back to our screens. Yes, the sex scenes are a must-watch, but it's the incredible building relationship between Ilya and Shane that keeps up coming back again and again for more.

3'Game Changer' (Season 7 - Dropout)
This is my yearly beg to you all to subscribe to Dropout. Their catalog of work is an incredible piece of art that everyone should experience, but Game Changer continues to be their standout. Continuing to keep fans and contestants on their toes with ever changing games, the joke that host Sam Reich continues to consensually ethically psychologically torture these contestants takes a bit of a turn this season especially in standout episode, "Who Wants to Be Jacob Wysocki?" with a special custom game of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? that was just an excuse to give Jacob $100,000. And then there was the surprise finale, where the tables were finally turned on Sam and he finally got be a contestant on the show. This season proved to everyone what the heart of the series (and Dropout in general) really is: the love that these incredible creatives have for each other and what they do is second-to-none. And we can't get enough of it!

4'Severance' (Season 2 - Apple TV)
Three years later and we finally got season 2 of Severance. While we would love to say that shows should be coming back faster, Severance proves that sometimes it can be worth the wait especially when it gives us incredible episodes like "Chikhai Bardo" filled with emotion, twists, and stunning cinematography that you're left speechless long after the screen turns black. And the finale left us even more stunned as Innie Mark finally made a bold choice in his life. What is exactly going to happen next? Let's hope we don't have to wait another three years to find out.

5'The Studio' (Season 1 - Apple TV)
If you're a true entertainment fan, then The Studio is an absolute gem. Seeing Seth Rogan play a studio head that has to deal with the good and bad of trying to create movies is a premise that we're already obsessed with. But it's the incredible cameos of movie and TV greats playing as themselves that takes it to another level. If these high-profile celebs, auteurs, and icons are willing to do anything for the craft, include pretending to pee their pants, then you already know that this is on another level.

6'The Traitors' (Season 3 - Peacock)
The way Traitors continues to be the ultimate reality crossover as some of our favorite and most hated stars come together to play a game of Mafia in Scotland is mindboggling. Of course, a lot of it has to do with host Alan Cumming who is once again having the time of his life as the master of ceremonies. But it's Tom Sandoval who turned this season into something even greater, especially after Scandoval made him one of America's biggest villains. Somehow he did the impossible and changed our minds about him by making a fool of himself on this show. It shows the power of this series now, letting us know that not only is it an incredible piece of reality TV, but also the best for of PR you can have nowadays if you are willing to be brave. Do we still side with him? Maybe not completely. But, hey, at least he's no longer the biggest villain in America.

7'Hacks' (Season 4 - HBO Max)
Hacks has always been about the iconic partnership of Deborah Vance and Ava Daniels. So what happens when they are split apart? It was refreshing to see Ava finally stand up for herself and remind Deborah how much she needs her. While it took an emotional journey to get there, it was one that was needed for this duo. We're not ready for this show to end as it been reported that it's upcoming fifth season will be its last. But if it is, season four proved to us that the ride was so worth it. Plus, it finally gave Hannah Einbinder the Emmy that she so rightfully deserved.

8'The Mighty Nein' (Season 1 - Prime Video)
Critical Role's The Legend of Vox Machina has quickly become a must-watch for us as the Dungeons & Dragons campaign turned into a mesmerizing and heart-pounding animated series. And now we get to have some more fun with The Mighty Nein, a more chaotic adaptation of their second campaign that only proves that getting to see these voice actors and players have some fun in this world in another format is the ultimate joy to watch.

9'Side Quest' (Miniseries - Apple TV)
Unfortunately for us, Mythic Quest came and left as Apple TV decided to cancel the series after its fourth season. However, we were presented with a special parting gift with Side Quest, a new anthology series that takes the original show's stand-alone episodes and gives them their own home. We only wish we could follow these characters some more after these episodes, but at least we got to witness the magic of this incredible writers' room one last time.

10'Dexter: Resurrection' (Season 1 - Showtime/Paramount+ Premium)
Even after Dexter: New Blood, we were left questioning if we really needed more Dexter. But turns out that a new location and some brand new faces that can truly keep up with Michael C. Hall's Dexter is all we needed to have a killer good time again. It's a battle of the greats especially when you remember that Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, David Dastmalchian, Jon Lithgow and more join in on this wild ride. It makes us even more excited to see just who Dexter will be facing next in the upcoming second season which will no doubt raise the stakes even higher.
