Is that blood?

With only two more episodes to go in season 3 of The White Lotus, the stakes have never been higher for our group of vacationing misfits and rich kids. And based on the preview for episode 7, things are about to get even more wild.

In case you need a quick recap, episode 6, “Denials,” ended with Rick on his way to get revenge for his father's death while Saxon and Lochlan grapple with their incestuous hook-up, and Belinda considers an offer from Greg. Meanwhile, Gaitok gets his hands on the hotel gun, Timothy is fantasizing about killing his family and himself, and Saxon is summoned to dine with Greg, who happens to be convinced that he slept with Chloe on the boat. In other words: it's about to get real messy, real quick, as you can see in the White Lotus season 3, episode 7 trailer.

Unsure of what it all means? Let's break down the new season 3 promo together, shall we?

Timothy Ratliff gets bloody.

The trailer opens with images of the underground Muay Thai fight, as a voiceover from the Buddhist monk says, “Every one of us has the capacity to kill. Violence, aggression, stem from the same source: fear.” On “fear” the image changes to a close up of Timothy Ratliff, shirt splattered with blood. Yikes!

But is it really blood? And did he really kill someone? We've already seen Timothy's murderous fantasies, so this might be just another one of his daydreams. That said, if you told me that Timothy does kill his wife before the end of their Thailand trip, I would believe you. It's also worth noting that it looks like this scene is taking place at night, and we already know that the mass shooting takes place in the morning, so the odds that this frame reveals the true identity of the White Lotus killer are slim.

Saxon tells his father, “I don't have any interests. If I'm not a success then I'm nothing. And I can't handle being nothing.”

It sounds like he's getting suspicious of his dad and what's going on at work stateside. That, coupled with the knowledge that he essentially had a threesome with his baby brother, could cause a full identity crisis—and lead to a particularly violent end.

Laurie's with the Russians again.

Laurie is seen in the promo attending the Mauy Thai fight with the Russian men and, more notably, without her girlfriends. Yes, she's a grown woman fully capable of looking after herself, but I worry about anyone venturing out in a foreign land without a buddy. And, given the shot of her walking home alone at night, it looks like she's not going to have a good night out.

Who is Laurie running from?

Later in the trailer, we see Laurie running in a dark alley wearing the same outfit she is at the fight. It looks like she's worried someone might be following her, which begs the question, who is it she's so afraid of? And if the Russians aren't with her...are they the ones chasing her?

Later in the trailer, Laurie is seen having dinner with her friends, getting some tough love from Jaclyn, who tells her, “If you're not happy with your life, change it.” IDK if they die at the end of the season, but it's looking like their friendship won't survive.

Mook and Gaitok finally go on that date.

Mook and Gaitok are also at the fight on what looks like their first date. But before you get too happy for Gaitok, it seems like he might be having a hard time keeping up with Mook, who tells him, “It's human to fight! It's a part of life!”

Meanwhile, Gaitok looks terrified just watching it all go down. If she rejects him for not being tough enough for her, Gaitok could become desperate enough to kill. He did get that gun back, after all.

Rick gets his revenge.

Speaking of guns, later in the trailer we see Rick confront the man who he believes killed his father. At first, it looks like the two sit down to have a civil conversation, with Rick telling the unseen man, “I have fantasized about this moment a thousand times.” Later, he's up and pointing a gun at the man, telling him, “You ruined my life.”

So, does he pull the trigger? I have my doubts...

Rick can smile!

Before you see Rick with a gun, he's shown laughing in an elevator with Frank, his old friend, and two Asian women. You can see he's wearing the same white suit here as he is when he confronts his father's killer. Notice the complete lack of blood stains? Yeah, I don't think he pulled the trigger.

He also seems much lighter than before, so it seems like his confrontation might have taken away some of his anger. Now my biggest concern is that he seems to be getting ready for a party at the hotel—without his loving girlfriend by his side.

Piper and Lochlan are seen getting cozy during their overnight at the monastery, and while I don't think they're going to hook up—Piper's not the type—I do think it's worth pointing out that the lighting and set up here is unnecessarily romantic and it's freaking me out.

Belinda is (probably) going to meet with Greg.

It looks like Belinda is going to accept Greg's super suss dinner invitation. Even worse, she's doing it at the behest of her son, who is seen telling her that she should “see what he has to say.” Um, he's a murderer, Zion, not an ex boyfriend!

The only comforting thing about this situation is that we know, whether she goes to Greg's home or not, that she is alive on the morning of the shooting because Zion's first thought is of finding and protecting his mother. So, at the very least, she'll survive the night.
