‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Killer Has Finally Been Revealed as [Spoiler]
Bad things really do come in threes.
Well...that just happened. The season 3 finale of The White Lotus finally revealed the answers to the The White Lotus Thailand murder mystery the show has been teasing since the beginning of the season. So, who died? And who was the White Lotus season 3 killer? Read on only if you want to know spoilers for season 3, episode 8 “Amor Fati.”
Before we get to the answers: a quick recap of what we knew from the start of episode 1. Zion's stress management session is interrupted by multiple gunshots, which causes people to start screaming and running for cover. Worried about his mother, Belinda, Zion jumps into a pond, moving towards the gunshots. In the water, he sees a floating corps—someone has been shot! And now we know that corpse was... Chelsea. Or maybe Rick? Or maybe one of Sritala's bodyguards?
It turns out, Chelsea was right when she said that bad things happened in threes. In the White Lotus season 3 finale, we saw three people die: Jim Hollinger, the man that Rick thought killed his father, Chelsea, Rick's innocent girlfriend, and Rick himself. Not only that, they all died at the hands of three different shooters. Here are the three killers of The White Lotus season 3:
Rick
Rick came back to The White Lotus feeling satisfied and at peace after confronting Jim, only to freak out when confronted by Jim again at the hotel. He ended up ambushing Jim, grabbing the gun out of Jim's holster and shooting him a few times in the chest.
It was only then that Sritala told him that Jim was actually his father. Whoops!
Unnamed Bodyguard
It's unclear who, exactly shot Chelsea, but I feel certain that it was one of Sritala's bodyguards who was shooting at Rick. Unfortunately, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. RIP Chelsea, you deserved better.
Gaitok
Gaitok wasn't around when Rick and Sritala's guards started exchanging fire, but he heard the noise and came running, gun in hand. After Rick realized Chelsea had been shot, he picked her up and started carrying her across a bridge. Distraught and seemingly uninterested in his own survival, he barely noticed Gaitok running up behind him. Gaitok didn't shoot immediately, but at Sritala's urging, he fired, killing Rick and sending both Rick and Chelsea tumbling into the pond below.
