The Vampire Lestat, née Interview with the Vampire season 3, premieres on AMC this Sunday, June 7. Let me help you stay caught up and generally have the best hot vampire summer you can.
If you haven’t yet watched Interview with the Vampire, there’s absolutely still time to catch up before The Vampire Lestat premieres! You can easily knock out the first two seasons, 15 episodes total, over a few days if you believe in yourself. They’re streaming on Netflix, too, if you want to time out your AMC subscription just so. If you need more time, that’s alright too. The Vampire Lestat is a weekly release. There’s minimal danger of falling behind. Don’t be afraid, just start the show.
The new season covers, no pun intended, the second book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. While the first book, and first two seasons of the show, told the history of the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), this book/season is all about his immortal on again/off again paramour Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Spoilers for those who haven’t read the books or seen any promo: Lestat crashes out and decides to become a rockstar this season. Seriously! You can literally stream him on Spotify. Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, Joseph Potter, and Justin Kirk also return for the new season/series. Joining them are Jennifer Ehle, Sheila Atim, and more!
Remind me, when does The Vampire Lestat premiere?
The first episode of the new season, titled “Detroit,” airs on AMC and drops on AMC+ Sunday, June 7. Just one episode! Un petit coup, as Lestat might call it.
If you’re watching on the streaming app, new episodes will appear at 3:00 a.m. EST/12:00 a.m. PST on Sunday mornings. If you’re making it an after-dinner affair and watching on the AMC channel, episodes are at 9 p.m. EST and PST.
How many episodes are in The Vampire Lestat?
Seven: one fewer than Interview with the Vampire season 2 but the same as season 1. Fangs crossed that AMC green-lights another season and that one gets eight episodes again. Or, better yet, more! A girl can dream…
