Only Cosmopolitan can get fans off their couches and onto a different couch by 9 p.m. on a weeknight. Upon arrival at the new one4one sports bar in Manhattan, guests were guided through an inconspicuous door and into a private viewing room, full of posters created with original Cosmopolitan photography—including of Love Island USA alums Rob Rausch and Serena Page—and collections of Cosmopolitan print issues.
Before the premiere, the crowd settled into the low-lit space, an amphitheater lined with couches and cocktail tables, and turned their attention to the massive screens to watch clips of Love Island stars on Blind Date, Cosmopolitan’s Webby award–nominated video series hosted by editor-in-chief Willa Bennett. Custom Love Island bingo cards were spread across every table. (A one4one bartender let slip that the New York Knicks team had been sitting in these very same seats for their own private event a few nights prior.)
As the premiere began and everyone got sucked into the Love Island drama, fries, mozzarella sticks, and handheld bites were passed through the aisles. People took the bingo surprisingly seriously, shouting out astute predictions and apt commentary on the contestants.
Guests included recent “Is It Just Us or Is Everyone Wearing Swimwear as Streetwear?” star Sophia Wilson (notably, not wearing a bikini top) and the 4 in the 5 creators. Game show host Natalie Shine brought her friends, and actor Talia Wray and model Allie Redmond chatted throughout the night. The lively crowd was a mix of Love Island superfans and people who had never before seen an episode. As befitting a Cosmopolitan party, all of them had a great time.
