- Jeremiah Brown is not happy with his edit on Love Island: Beyond the Villa.
- He claims a key confrontation between him and Pepe García-Gonzalez was filmed but cut, making their fallout seem misleading on the show.
- He cleared the air on TikTok Live, claiming that he ended the friendship because Pepe repeatedly lied to him, not due to his drama with his ex, Iris Kendall, and her new man, TJ Palma.
There’s some trouble in paradise when it comes to Jeremiah Brown and Pepe García-Gonzalez’s dynamic on season 2 of Love Island: Beyond the Villa.
During a confessional on the reality series’s most recent episode, Jeremiah said he was upset with Pepe for what he did to Iris Kendall and TJ Palma after they decided to explore their connection when they came back to the U.S. from Fiji last summer.
Apparently, Jeremiah even had a key confrontation with Pepe at the former islanders’ holiday party—but the footage got cut entirely from the episode. His barber, Blessed Hands Chapo, unknowingly confirmed they did have an interaction, posting a behind-the-scenes TikTok from the set, where Jeremiah and Pepe are seen speaking to each other while cameras rolled.
Once the episode hit Peacock on Thursday, April 30, Jeremiah hopped on TikTok Live to clear the air and explain that footage of the conversation had been nixed.
He claimed that the episode made it seem like the reason he wasn’t friends with Pepe was “because of his issues with other people,” though that isn’t the case. “But me and Pepe have a conversation that gets cut out about why we’re not friends,” he said, per a screen recording.
“He has lied to me and my hometown friends multiple times. That is why I choose not to be friends with Pepe,” Jeremiah said, adding, “There is no beef, I don’t have any ill-intent. That is why we talk about it on the show, they did not air it. They only air me saying TJ and Iris—of course, another bad edit.”
Elsewhere in the livestream, he alleged that Pepe lied about a bunch of stuff when they first met in the villa last summer.
“In the villa, he told me he owned a gym. That wasn’t true. He told me…what else? That he owned an after-school program. That wasn’t true,” Jeremiah said.
He continued, “It’s crazy I have to come on the internet and explain why I’m not friends with somebody. I’m only gonna speak on me, and the reason I am not friends with Pepe is because he started lying to me, and I do not value that. I’m not gonna talk about what he’s done to anyone else, because this is about what happened with me.”
Jeremiah’s edit on the episode confused fans, as he separately said that his tension with Pepe had “nothing to do” with how he handled his breakup with Iris and that he had a “personal issue” with him.
A few weeks earlier, during an April 16 appearance on the Not Married to This podcast, Jeremiah said, “I’m definitely not friends with Pepe, at all.”
When asked who is friends with Pepe, Jeremiah claimed that people will say they’re not friends with him and then proceed to still hang out with him. “It’s confusing,” he admitted.
