- Summer House initially didn’t pick up cameras amid West Wilson, Amanda Batula, and Ciara Miller’s love triangle drama.
- Bravo chairman Frances Berwick revealed that there’s a “new scene” in the show’s upcoming spin-off, In the City, that addresses the drama.
- She claimed it “wasn’t the right thing to do” on Summer House.
While we have to wait until the Summer House season 10 reunion airs on Bravo to see what exactly went down in the aftermath of Amanda Batula, West Wilson, and Ciara Miller’s love triangle drama, there’s a chance we’ll see how some of it unfolded on the show’s upcoming spin-off, In the City.
Bravo chairman Frances Berwick confirmed that there’s a “new scene” that captures some discussion regarding the romance scandal.
“In the City, which launches in a couple weeks, you’ll see in the first episode we have a new scene that we shot with a couple of the cast members,” Frances confirmed to The Ankler on Wednesday, April 29. “So, we did pick up [cameras] there but we just didn’t feel like that was the right thing to do on Summer House.”
Her developments come after TMZ reported that Summer House cameras “[weren’t] going back up” earlier this month and there had been “no talk” of resuming filming to document Amanda and Ciara’s fallout.
On March 31, West and Amanda released a joint statement on their Instagram Stories confirming rumors that they had been hooking up and admitted that they were exploring a romantic connection.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it,” they wrote, in part.
As for how Ciara has been holding up through all this, she told Glamour that she felt more betrayed by her best friend, Amanda, in the situation.
“At the end of the day, a guy’s a guy. Whether or not West and I are working on a relationship, you just can’t put anything past a man. But I just never would think that it would come from someone like Amanda, who has been what has felt like in my circle and in my corner for so long,” she said. “
Ciara continued, “I think that’s the craziest part… I’ve fought with your own husband to advocate for you. I have championed you. I have tried to be there in different ways for you and help you and get you to see your value in yourself. And so to be disregarded in such a disrespectful way is....Honestly, it’s....I’m at a loss for words sometimes.”
We’ll have to tune in to the upcoming Summer House season 10 reunion—and, now, the premiere of In the City—to see how the confrontation went down.
