• Netflix has paused production on Selling the OC.
  • No final decisions have been made about its return, and cast are worried the pause could be permanent.
  • Selling Sunset will be prioritized, with filming beginning later this month.

Another day, another reality TV show dealing with drama. If you’ve been wondering when Netflix’s Selling the OC will be making its triumphant return, the answer might be…never. TMZ reports that the cast has been “notified they won't be filming this year.”

So, what’s going on? Surprisingly, drama among the cast isn’t the reason for the filming delay. Instead, it’s Selling the OC’s sister-show, Selling Sunset, that’s the problem. Sources say that filming “hit a snag” amid a “cast shakeup,” so Netflix is prioritizing getting it “up and running” again. This was made appisnt at Polly Brindle's 40th birthday: the Selling the OC cast were very much in attendance, but cameras? Not so much.

As for a specific timeline, Selling Sunset will likely begin filming later this month, which means Selling the OC has to take a back seat. Naturally, the cast are worried that the pause could be permanent, but as of now no final decisions have been made about it returning.

Selling the OC’s pause comes amid The Bachelorette being canceled by ABC, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives being put on pause at Hulu, and even Summer House’s fate being uncertain amid the cast being locked in major drama thanks to West Wilson and Amanda Batula’s secret relationship. Though, something tells us all will be fine over at Bravo considering West is allegedly days away from filming a spin-off series tentatively titled Summer House: Ozarks.
