It seems that MomTok is ready to be back on camera. After production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 halted following a “blowup” between Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, several MomTok members are seemingly teasing that filming for the Hulu reality series could resume soon.
On March 25, Layla Taylor and Mayci Neeley each reshared a post highlighting Deadline’s report of Jessi Draper’s latest Call Her Daddy interview.
“Let’s do this girls!” Layla wrote alongside the headline, which reads, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Star Jessi Draper Praises Hulu & Producers For Production Break, Hopes to Resume Shooting Soon.”
Mayci then playfully chimed in with a reference to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, writing, “We’re ready. It’s time to take Barbieland back.” (Side note: living for the DadTok shade here, since season 4 heavily focused on the Mormon Husbands.)
During her interview with Alex Cooper, Jessi revealed why the Mormon Wives cast and producers decided to stop filming amid Taylor and Dakota’s ongoing domestic violence investigation.
“Me and the girls, we did decide to stop filming when we found this out because we were starting to hear things a little bit before it leaked. We just didn’t want to be filming and say the wrong thing on camera, not knowing the full story yet,” Jessi shared. “We didn’t want to have to process all this information for the first time and then also be speaking about it. We just thought for everyone’s mental health, let’s take a beat and let’s not film right now. That’s probably the best thing for everyone in this situation.”
She went on to praise the show’s production company and crew, who she says have become like “family” with the cast.
“Production, network, they have been incredible to us. They paused things for a minute because I think they were like, ‘We care about you guys as people,’” she added before she revealed that filming had picked back up but decided to halt again after Dakota filed a police report.
Jessi continued, “We went to production and the network, and they were all so supportive, and they were like, ‘We totally get it. You guys come first.’ They handled it so well. Because of that, we all felt comfortable being like, ‘You know what? This is our real lives and if we want this show to continue to be successful, we have to handle this the right way.’”
On March 16, TMZ broke the news that filming for season 5 had been halted. A People source weighed in that same day, confirming that the girls “are not filming,” and that “Taylor has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”
Reports of a February 2026 domestic violence dispute between Taylor and Dakota surfaced shortly after and ultimately contributed to her season of The Bachelorette getting canceled by ABC a few days later.
Hulu has yet to confirm whether production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will resume.
