A new horror series (produced by the Duffer Brothers!) just landed at Netflix and it’s…literally so good. And also so scary, and ALSO full of familiar faces that you know you’ve seen before but just can’t quite place.
Welcome to Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, an eight-episode miniseries about an engaged couple who visit the groom’s family “cabin in the woods” (it’s more like a mansion, but) in the days before their wedding. And things get…weird. And then they get weirder. And you just have the feeling that something very bad is going to happen. Here’s what you need to know about the cast & characters.
Camila Morrone Plays Rachel Harkin
Rachel is meeting her fiancé’s family for the first time (and getting married at their cabin), but she has a bad feeling as soon as she gets there and the vibes are off to say the least….
You probably know actor/model Camila Morrone best from Daisy Jones & the Six, but she was most recently in Season 2 of The Night Manager alongside Tom Hiddleson. Fun fact for nosy people wanting to know about her romantic life: she dated Leonardo DiCaprio for five years, and is now in a relationship with Cole Bennett.
Adam DiMarco Plays Nicky Cunningham
Nicky is head over heels in love with Rachel, believes they’re soulmates, and can’t wait to introduce her to his family and plan their wedding. He also…doesn’t seem to realize that the energy in his family home is very off—despite Rachel’s gut feeling.

Adam DiMarco was Albie in The White Lotus Season 2, and played Peter in Overcompensating! Or, maybe you know him from The Magicians? Also, he’s rumored to be dating Olivia Holt, in case you were wondering.
Jennifer Jason Leigh Plays Victoria Cunningham
Victoria Cunningham is the matriarch of the family and seems to be in the “perfect relationship” with her husband. But, naturally, she’s keeping a huge secret from her kids.
Jennifer Jason Leigh was nominated for an Academy Award for The Hateful Eight, and has been in everything from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, to Weeds, to Fargo.
Ted Levine Plays Boris Cunningham
Ted plays Nicky’s dad, who spends his time taxidermying old family dogs, hunting, and lurking ominously in hallways looking like this ^. Normal stuff!
Ted has been in a ton of movies over the years (Heat, The Fast and the Furious), but his biggest role? He played Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs. So yes, this is iconic horror casting!
Jeff Wilbusch Plays Jules Cunningham
Jules is Nicky’s (honestly pretty rude) brother, who was traumatized by the Sorry Man, a “monster” he encountered when he was a kid who haunts him to this day.
Jeff’s been in several TV shows over the years, but most notably he played Moishe Lefkovitch Netflix’s Unorthodox. Though you also might know him from Peacock’s The Calling.
Karla Crome Plays Nell Cunningham
Jules is married to Nell, who befriends Rachel when she arrives at the family home. Oh, and—awkward—Nell also used to date Nicky.
Karla has been in a ton of television shows in England (she played Jess on Misfits!) but you might know her best from Amazon Prime’s fantasy show Carnival Row, where she played Tourmaline.
Gus Birney Plays Portia Cunningham
Portia is Nicky’s hyper-controlling sister, who’s obsessed with planning every part of the wedding even though she doesn’t seem to like Rachel.
If you’re a Dickinson fan, you’ve definitely seen Gus before! She played Jane Humphreys in the Apple TV+ series, and then went on to star in Shining Vale (also a horror series!).

Zlatko Burić Plays The Witness
The Witness (what we’re calling him) has the key to every mystery on this show, but revealing them would be a huge spoiler so…won’t say more!
Zlatko is known for the Pusher trilogy, but more recently he was in Academy Award nominated Triangle of Sadness—and he won a European Film Award for his performance.
