The Age of Attraction season 1 finale has come and gone, which means it’s time to figure out which of the season’s couples are still together nearly a year after filming. One of the couples I was most curious to know the fate of was 43-year-old father of two Derrick Fleming and 23-year-old graphic designer Pfeifer Hill, who have a 20-year age gap between them—not to mention a 2,000-mile distance. The two seem like a promising couple of the show despite these challenges, but are Pfeifer and Derrick still together today?
The first clue that things didn’t work out: Pfeifer (who’s been very active on social media since the show dropped) very much seems to still be based in Seattle…despite (*spoiler alert*) telling Derrick she was ready to move to Dallas to be with him.
Oh, and she also raised eyebrows when she posted a TikTok of herself looking distressed on the show, which she captioned, “tfw you have to move in with a man who you’ve known for approximately 5 hours” (though in response to fans who accused Pfeifer of posting a spoiler, she clarified, “This is a meme not spoilers”).
And even though it looks like Pfeifer posssssibly took a trip to Texas last fall (perhaps to visit Derrick) based on these pics…
…Derrick later confirmed during a (since-deleted) video interview with Entertainment Tonight that he and Pfeifer didn’t end up working out. When asked by ET whether Pfeifer had taken that next step yet and moved to Dallas, Derrick said, “That’s a negative for us. It didn’t happen…I’m no longer with Pfeifer.”
But it seems like the two are at least on good terms, as Derrick had some sweet things to say about Pfeifer on The Viall Files. When asked what drew him to Pfeifer, he said, “I would say Pfeifer is definitely different than what I’ve dated overall, but those qualities, the positive energy, that’s what I was looking for.”
Likewise, during a recent TikTok, Pfeifer opened up about why she cried in the Promise Room with Derrick, explaining, “My last relationship prior to this show, things ended so horrifically badly… Derrick was so opposite of that and so supportive. He treated with so much more respect.”
Guess fans will have to wait for the reunion where things went wrong…though from the looks of the trailer, Pfeifer decided to skip the reunion all together, which doesn’t seem too promising.
